On tap: The aroma consists of light grass, floral notes, and a hint of pine. It’s a transparent gold with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin film outlined by a slightly thicker ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of lightly sweet grain. The finish has light-moderate grass, straw, and light citrus. It’s light bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, a decent summer lawn mower beer.

Bottle. Slightly darker yellow pour with thin white head. Light grassy floral notes on the schnozzola. Floral hops are upfront, but this is nowhere near as bitter as I expected. Very herbal palate. Aftertaste is mild and not as bitter as I’d like. The finish is a tad too quick. For all my criticisms this really isn’t too shabby. It has the mouthfeel and character of a micro craft brew. I got it on sale $5.99 for a sixer of glass. Not bad.

Pours a nice golden color with a good head and some lacing on the glass.

The aroma is neither bad nor good to me, it’s got some really nice weedy & grassy aromatics along with some herbalness that I love… but it also smells like breakfast cereal, which I detest… so It’s cool, but I wish it didn’t smell like some corn flakes.

The flavor is really pretty clean, not nearly as sweet as the aroma… by a long shot… but it’s not dry beer either. Mild malty sweetness is offered but corn is basically skipped, which is chill. The hops are more forward that I suppose I’m used to of the style… I’m a little surprised looking at the hop list offered per the commercial description… there is some fruitiness and citrus here but it’s far more grassy and herbal in it’s hop character, which is what I would want from a Helles, but it doesn’t seem like you need all those fancy hops to obtain a hop character like this… eh, pretty decent tasting either way.

Palate is bubbly and nice.

Leine’s can throw together a decent lager, and I’ll at the very least try every one they put out… glad I tried this one.
