12 ounce bottle, 12/4/13. Pours a clear golden color with a thin fizzy off-white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of doughy malts and grassy hops. The taste is pale bready malts, mild grassy hops. Thin bodied, high carbonation, boring.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours pale bright golden with 1-finger frothy head. The nose is a decent mix of fruity pale malt, hops, and orange marmalade. Tastes hoppy, citric, with fruity notes plus spare pale malt, and a complex, somewhat sweet finish. This one is good.

Bottle. Lemon/orange malt and hay/straw aroma. Golden yellow with small head. Lightly sweet citrus, barley malt, and hay flavor. Not bad - hoppy for the style.

Bland and insipid helles, who are the fucking idiots giving this such a rating?

On tap @ Lambeau Field, in the Leinies Lounge. This is the first Leinenkugal beer I’ve had that doesn’t have a faint farty smell or a fake fruit smell. Pleasant sweet grassy-citrus aroma. That pleasntness carries into the palate too, married to sweet soft malts. Not really true to the helles style, more of an APA really, but BY FAR the best beer available at the Packers game!

Bottle. Pours a clear gold with visible carbonation and a white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has lots of grass and earthy grains with a bit of must underlying. Flavor has lots of grass with earthy grain and just a hint of biscuit backing.

12 oz. bottle at a friend’s party. It’s a clear, pale golden color with a white head and some visible carbonation bubbles. Nothing surprising about this one- very mild hop character, pale malts, and a little fruitiness, as well. But also nothing that seemed off for the style. Pretty fresh and satisfying, actually. Light-bodied, with a clean, crisp mouthfeel and moderate to medium carbonation. For this brewery, you could do a lot worse.
