12 oz. screw top bottle. Pours a medium, lasting, dark ivory head, with minimal lacing, over a clear dark amber (SRM 14) body......nose is light toasted malts, no hops or esters......taste is slightly sweet, with toasted malts, no esters, minimal hops on the finish....mouth feel, light body, no alcohol, high carbonation. This is a very nondescript beer. It has color, fizz, and absolutely no personality. BJCP5/3/10/4/5

I wasn’t very impressed with this, but it wasn’t terrible either. pours a nice copper color with a medium head. The body is quote thin, but has good carbonation. Flavor is on the light side with a bit of a metallic after taste. Not a great fest, but then again it’s not really a great style to start with

Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a nice deeper amber color with a one finger pure white fizzy head and tons of tiny carbonation bubbles seen streaming up through the brew. The head has a decent level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is light overall, consisting of a bit of a lightly roasted bready smell as well as aromas of caramel and toffee.
Taste – The taste begins with a strong caramel and lightly toasted bready flavor. These flavor create the bulk of the taste and remain rather constant throughout the taste. Other sweeter flavors come to the tongue more toward the middle of the taste, consisting mainly of an apple and pear flavor. Along with the fruit, comes some spice flavors as well as a bit of a grassy flavor. These tastes take the taste to its end, leaving a rather sweet and lightly roasted flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the beer is on the medium to slightly thinner side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is on the average side. Both are appropriate for the style and match the sweeter, lightly roasted, and spiced flavors of the brew quite well.
Overall – A decent Oktoberfest that is a bit on the sweeter side. It’s alright, but noting super exceptional.

This is the kind of thing I’d hope Leinenkugel’s would do well and they do. I have a long standing affection for them from back in my early rating days where I could pick out a halfway tolerable German style brew on the cheap from them but this affection has worn thin after all too many shandies and honey whatevers. This one though, while not exactly unforgettable, is damned solid. It is copper in color w/ a small head of white, fine bubbles. Bit of caramel and toasted malt in the nose and maybe the slightest hint of floral noble hops. There is a slight malty sweetness up front but the finish is mostly dry and slightly bitter. This combined w/ some flavorful earthy bitterness makes for some very drinkable beer. This definitely enormously better than most of the standard overly sweet so-called craft beers in this style and definitely one I’d seek out again.

"A nice enough Oktoberfest lager, but it doesn’t do a thing to separate itself from the field. Bready malt aroma, the typical good looking pour, decent feel, but not full, rich or flavorful enough to really take notice."

Pours a deep golden amber with a one finger off white head. Aroma is sweet with caramel. Creamy mouthfeel with a nice bit of caramel and malt on the tongue. Flavor is good bit disappears too quickly. It just vanishes too quickly for my taste. Not bad Oktoberfest beer but I wished the flavor lingered a bit more.
