A traditional Marzen brewed with 2-Row Pale, Caramel, and Munich malts. The malts give it a hearty character and deep amber color. Tettnanger and Perle hops provide a well-balanced, drinkable finish prefect for Fall celebrations.

Very little flavor is this beer’s downfall. What I can taste I like. The wateryness is kind of refreshing which works because I’m thirsty.

From the bottle the color is Auburn with orange and very clear the head is white and dissipates to a very thin head after a minute, the aroma is malty a little sweet and caramel, the taste a little more crisp then I would like there are notes of caramel and malts but is not very prevalent throughout the drink, the mouthfeel is thin to medium with a finish that is watery caramel.

pours clear copper with a smallish off white head. Aroma is caramel malt. taste is light malt. Very mild bittersweet finish. Not a top flight oktoberfest, but easy drinking and unoffensive.

Clear light gold with a white head. Sweet caramel aroma. Sweet, but caramel sweet instead of malty sweet. No hops. Thin, poor representative of an O’fest most ways you judge it.

Leinkugel’s take on the Oktoberfest is inoffensive and a real bore. Things are average in the looks and mouthfeel departments. Flavor is light a light lager with some added caramel. Smell is pretty much the same. Not bad but easily forgotten.

A true classic of the style. Great for this time of year and would drink at other times of year.

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2015 Poured from a bottle. Sudsy short-lived head but some decent lacing. Medium amber color, very season-appropriate. Caramel notes on the nose but understated, plus a tiny bit skunky. Great tasting though, refreshing fall drink.

This rake is brought to me by the Stay Brodge Suites in Peoria, Il. Enjoyed outside on a glorious mid autumn night. Sampled out of the can. Minimal nose, taste begins sweet with sloppy grains, toast, light caramel. Light grass and bitterness briefly appears mid sip and vanishes as quickly as it began. Medium body

Pours a bronze or maybe copper color. Pretty good beige head. Pretty decent lacing. It’s pretty typical for a marzen.

Aroma is bready, toffee sweetness. Roasted malts, and a little more hops than most marzens.

Taste is okay. It pretty much follows the nose. Bready, roasted malts. Maybe a little more bitterness than most marzens. The appearance of the beer doesn’t look carbonated, but it tastes too carbonated. Oh, maybe it was made with seltzer water. It has a very weird finish..

Mouthfeel is light and mostly clean except for that durn aftertaste. Maybe if it were a little more watery it might help.

Overall, what’s going on here. Most Leinnenkugel’s are great, this is weird. I’m not a fan. I don’t really like it. I’ll give it credit for being different, doesn’t mean I like it. There are many other Oktooberfest offerings, i’ve tried several, this is the worst. Even Shiner is better. I’d suggest somethhing else.

12 oz bottle into a lager glass. Having just finished a Shiner Oktoberfest, I’ll do a largely comparative review. Appearance - Very clear orange-brown body that’s a shade lighter than the Shiner. The head is larger but much less durable, settling to a thin top coat in less than 2 minutes. A sparse amount of visible carbonation rising to the top. Aroma - Less hop forward than the Shiner, with a solid, sweet maltiness that carries a hint of caramelized sugar. Flavor [6.5]: Lightly sweet; sweeter and less hoppy than the Shiner but a more pleasing flavor mix. Clear hints of hops in the finish and aftertaste. Overall I liked the taste, but I felt it should be a bit stronger. Mouthfeel - The beer is medium-light in body, approaching watery but not quite there. The carbonation is light but OK for this beer. Semi-dry finish. Overall: a decent marzen but leaning towards the lighter side in both flavor and feel.

Mild sweet caramel malt aroma. Clear copper body only a slim head to start. Light bitter taste with balanced caramel malt taste. Clean malt finish that is very drinkable.
