2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
As far as Leines goes, at least this one tastes like a beer. Slightly bitter taste with a bit of an offensive palate. Overall though, hey, at least Leines figured out how to actually make beer.

2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Brings back a lot of memories of childhood vacations to Wisconsin and seeing all the signage around the state and seeing Dad knock back a few. Always a must have when back up north. A traditional American lager. Easy drinking, but nothing spectacular. Nice beer to drink while watching a Packers game. More about the nostalgia than anything else.

"a decent attempt at a cheap, quaffable lager. definitely nothing special, but not offensive either. poured a fizzy golden in color, medium-thin bodied. passable flavor and aroma, on the malty side."

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tap at Minnesota State Fair, Leinieís Booth. Small aroma. some light sweetish malt. Dark straw color. Gentle sweet malt, honeyish, very little bittering, mild finish. Thin body. Clean and crisp. A small step up from the macro stuff. I can see how this might be a Midwest college favorite.

Pours a clear golden color with white head. Cereal grain is the main note on the nose; follows onto the palate. On the finish a simple hop resin note appears. Very drinkable lager.

12oz can. Pours yellow. Itís not as sweet as some of the other macro-crap lagers but otherwise not much different, but seems to have a regional fanbase for whatever reason.

For the style this is a good beer. Has some flavor, great on a hot day, great for camping or fishing. If you're in Wisconsin you can get it for $12 a case. No idea why anyone in that state would drink any other pale lager at that price. (Well maybe Point Lager) Not a great beer but if u need cheap or want a pale lager can't do much better

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Iíve had this more than enough times when I lived in Michigan and I actually donít see it around here. No worries, hereís my notes.
Iíve had this in a pint glass and a pilsener a way many of times.
The appearance was a nice golden light orange to almost yellow color with a soft one finger white foamy head that dies at a nice pace leaving an adequate stringy light somewhat clingy lacing.
The smell was somewhat malty and left a lot of hoppy bitterness to be desired. Hmmm...ok, well, I do see its an American Pale Lager, so I wonít be too harsh here on it.
The taste was somewhat malty and really didnít have much else going on.
The palate was about a light to medium and didnít really have anything else telling me this is anything stellar.
Overall, this is just another American Pale Lager, nothing bad, but still nothing extraordinary. Iíve had it with food before (a fair amount of pizza) over the years and always thought it was good.

From bottle. Nice change of pace beer but not one that would be stocked routinely in the fridge.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 4/20
For beers of this caliber (I use this term loosely), this is one of my favorites. Maybe itís because each sip takes me back to my Wisconsin College days, or warm summer nights on the lakefront @ Summerfest. Regardless, it blows any Miller or Bud product out of the water. Nice hop aroma, clean and crisp. Just how cheap beer is supposed to be. Be warned about overdoing it with Leinies Orginal. It has the ability to leave you in rough condition the next morning.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12oz bottle (Old Notes)-Pours a clear golden with a decent head. Aroma of corn and grains. Taste of the same with a bit of bitterness. This light bodied brew is pretty well balanced and goes down easy.
