Bottle. Pours a redish-amber color with a little bit of fluffy head. Aroma is a bit weak. Taste has a thin maltiness to it with a bit of soft bitterness at the end. Very lively mouthfeel. It’s a bit thin for my taste.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2010 Little too bitter of a taste for me. Not terrible, middle of my Leinenkugels rankings.

12 oz bottle. Pours an orangey amber color with fluffy beige head. The aroma is toast, a little bit of earthy hops, a cotton candy sweetness, and light caramel. The flavor is toast and caramel again, with a somewhat metallic hop tinge. The aftertaste is sweeter than it is in the mouth, and leaves a lingering cotton candy taste. Drinkable.

Pours a clear, amber-red color with a pillow-like off-white head. Aroma is pretty grainy with mild toasted notes, light caramel, a light malty sour note and some light chemical background. Flavor has a very smooth but light toasted malt note, some light grainy sweetness in the middle and ends with husky astringent bite. Body is pretty light with very high carbonation. The head does leave a bit of some lacing on the glass. Overall not the best from Leine’s but still a decent option depending on the surround beer availability.

Pitcher at Jimmy’s. Cherry colored beer with a strong aroma of cherries and orange. Sweet with slight hints of malt. It has a smooth taste and is only lightly carbonated (that may be because I had it out of a pitcher).

Slight caramel or nuts-type malt character. Very little pine-like or herbal hops. Amber pour... sits in glass orangish-red. Medium sweetness, very light sourness. Seems slightly sweeter and slightly less better than Killian’s. Fuller side of medium-bodied, somewhat creamy texture. Lively carbonation, bittersweet and long finish.

2009 Bottle - Pours clear and dark orange with a large off white head...aroma is dry malt and wheat, with some sulphur around the edges...flavour is similar, some slight grain and dough, lager skunk...pretty average, which is a great thing for leines...they do okay when graded on a curve...

The beer of choice at my friend’s apartment. It’s one of the better reds i’ve had and i’m quite the fan of reds. Perhaps my view is a little biased. Amber taste with a little sweetness. Decent carbonation, but just something about it that makes this beer better than it may actually be.
