Pours deep amber, slight red tinge, white foamy head. Faint aroma of sweet malt & a little hops. Flavor is well balance, malt is not too sweet but is still the dominate flavor, very smooth in body holds decent carbonation. Slight bitter finish.

Leinenkugel’s Red 12 oz bottle Moderate pour in a shaker. Recent brewing, absorbed 05/07 Poured a clear copper with a large mostly lasting white fizzy head with good lacing. Smelt of moderate toasted bread, caramel and citrus. Taste was upfront moderate sweet caramel and bitter orange and toasted bread followed by a moderate bitter dark bread and dark roasted grain and green hops with light sweet caramel and oranges on a short to average finish. Palate was light to medium bodied, lively carbonated, slightly oily and slightly astringent. Overall, a pretty good dark amber with good flavors. Satisfying and easy to drink, but only slightly above ordinary. By Leinenkugel’s standards, its good.

Rated 3/23/06: Poured from the bottle into a glass. Nice light amber color with minimal head and decent lacing. Sweet malty aroma that reminds me a little of licorice. The mouthfeel is full and smooth with an exceptional finish. The flavor is really nice. Sweet malts dominate the overall taste followed by a hint of hops. There is a slight watered down/thinness to the flavor, but not the body of this beer which is perplexing. Overall I do enjoy this lager much better than most of the standards that are out there.

very mediocre and weak aroma, albeit with some hint of finesse... nice tan color but nothing impressive.. sweetish flavor and a palate overall nicer than the rest of the beer... drinkable but nothing to be excited over

Pours amber with small off-white head. Nose is faint creamy malt and apple. The flavor is faint, weak, water and some maltiness, no bitterness at all. Rather watery. Inoffensive.

One of the darker, deeper reds you will ever see. Nose is a bit weak. Some malts and fruitiness. Smooth and creamy on the plate with a clean finish. Excellent session beer, would be great at a football game. Fatten this brew up a bit and you would have a classic.
