Bottle. Nice amount of carbonation, not too watery, light bodied. Clean taste, I enjoy drinking this beer any time of year.

Bottle. Light caramel and earthy/veggie aroma. Pretty amber pour with a too-fizzly beige head. Sweet and caramelly with a little toast and cookie, light bitterness. Touch of grain. Lightly malty and very mild. Thin, waterish body and a smooth palate. Really not that bad - I was ready to crucify this beer. Beats Killian’s.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2007 12 oz brown bottle with a twist off cap. Leinie has some interesting beers! One of the first brews I rated was creamy dark. Pop the cap on this beer to reveal a slightly yeasty beery aroma, smells clean! The color of this beer is orange, orangish red (3300). Has a creamy alabaster yellow head that hangs for awhile. Nicely done attractive pour, with gentle lacing, in my steeler stein. Initially there is some personality in the first taste, a little hoppy bite. Interesting taste for a lager, I’m used to mild well behaved flavors. Somewhat like a pale ale. Finish is also like a mild IPA, bitter and lingers for a moment or two. Yes, overall quite ale-ish. Medium grapefruit peel astringent finish. For an American dark lager, not as good as Shiner Bock or George Killiams. One of the lesser liked ADLs I’ve tasted, but still good.

Well rounded amber beer. Nice balanced taste with a little more maltyness as you would expect with an amber. And it is now available in arizona

Good Midwest Beer. Aroma is probably the weakest point of the beer. Appearance is a great amber red color. Taste is fairly balanced between malt and hops, and improved as the temperature increases to approx. 50 degrees from a cooled starting point (refridgerator).

I had a couple of these while I was visiting my parents over the Christmas holiday (12/24-25/2006). Unfortunately, I was under the weather for most of my stay, so I didn’t really get to have much beer other than a bottle of two of this and couple bottles of Great Lakes Dortmunder... Leinenkugel’s Red Lager is a deep amber-red color with a nice beige head. The aroma and flavor a slightly sweet with a nice toasted malt and caramel flavor. The bitterness is just enough to balance out this beer. The mouthfeel is pretty smooth. This beer also has a medium body. I’ve always enjoyed Leinenkugel beer, including Lienie’s Red. I used to also get the Red on draught a lot when I was in college from a bar nearby that always had it, but Leinenkugel’s is becoming harder and harder to find in the area on draught... 12 oz bottle.

Bottle. A beautiful reddish amber with medium head. A little fizzy for my tastes -- almost champagne-esque. Relatively balanced with vanilla sweetness but bitterness overtakes. Didn’t detect any particularly noticeable flavors. Almost a session beer -- at least it’s light and not too objectionable.
