3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUL 7, 2003 This actually doesn't suck…
Okay, same old minimal megabrew head that disappears quickly, but there is a pleasant smell here. A decent slightly roasty taste and malty sweetness without the usual corny taste. I was not thrilled, but at least pleasantly surprised, and will have to give it above average marks for that. As I work my way through the "Leine's Lodge Tackle Box," I'm a little more hopeful than I was with their Berry Weiss.
Tried the draft version, July 3. Nothing that makes me want to change my vote up or down. Would have a bit more malty profile if it weren't poured into danged frozen glass. An improvement over what a "Miller Dark" would be.

I had this at home. Pours amber red with a off white head. Taste Carmel malt, slightly sweet. I thought this was good. I would drink this again.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours a medium, well retained, ivory head, with hints of lacing, over a clear medium amber (SRM 12) body.....nose cereal, slight toffee/caramel from the malts, hints of herbs, slight earthiness from the hops......taste slight toasted tones from the malts, mild bitterness from the hops, no esters, hints of sweetness early, finishing dry.....mouth feel light of medium, carbonation makes for a clean slightly acidic finish. This is a rather simple beer, but is nicely balanced, and does meet the important points in the style. BJCP 7/3/14/4/6

My lawn mowing, honey do list beer of choice. Slightly malty with a mild bitter hoppy spicey aftertaste. Better than your everyday lager. Nice and refreshing super cold on hot day. Try it partially frozen like an ice beer for a unique lager. Rating may be high for some but fits my taste.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
This pours a reddish, copper color with a decent fluffy head. The aroma is slightly malty with a slight bit of spices. The taste is fair with a decent malt and spice flavor that you would expect from a red lager. Drinks pretty decent with a likable texture and flavorful finish.

On tap in Sconnie - not very good since this just has bad aftertastes and weird aroma.

A - Pours a clear amber red with a thick off-white cap.
S - Sweet caramel malt, light sour dough bread, subtle yeast.
T - Toasted grain, caramel malt, hints of tangy lemon and cherry, clean grassy hops add slight bitterness. Finishes clean crisp with a bready aftertaste.
M - Light to medium body, stingy carbonation off the top but thins out towards the finish.
This is way better than I expected it to be. Lots of clean flavors and very refreshing. One of the best I’ve had from this brewery.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12oz bottle, enjoyed with at a LaRosa’s with a philly calzone. Best by June/03/13. Clear red / orange amber color. Very lively carbonation. Thin off-white head. Little lace. Light toasty malt. Metallic flavor. Lightly spicy hop. Medium body. More smooth carbonation. Light bitter taste, more sweet. OK. Kind of just a slightly macro-tasting red lager. It’s got that light metal taste. Kind of uninspired and not too flavorful overall, though not bad.
