Leinenkugel’s Snowdrift Vanilla Porter is a robust and velvety addition to Leinenkugel’s seasonal selection. This porter-style beer is aged on real vanilla to reveal rich layers of caramel, coffee and chocolate that is ideal for the season.

Pours dark brown with thin beige head. Aromas of tobacco and toasty malt. Taste is thin but tolerable. Flavor is a little chocolate, a little tobacco. Slightly thin for the style but drinkable for the brewer.

Simple beer. Highly Drinkable. For a more mainstream beer Leinenkugels has a great seasonal selection. Pours a slightly transparent black with heavy heavy heavy vanilla (delicious) but not overly sweet. Notes of chocolate and caramel. I’d classify this more of a dark lager than a Porter with its low gravity (lacks thickness/viscosity) but nonetheless delicious. Especially for the price. Great to share with beer geeks or the occasional beer drinker.

Bottle. Dark brown pour, small tan head. It has a pleasant aroma dominated by the roasted malt. The flavor is sweet with chocolate and vanilla notes. It’s like a good Vanilla Porter that has been watered down a bit.

Bottle pours mahogany with nice tan head. Malty aroma with flavors of dark, but not overly sweet fruits, lightly toasted malts, and spices (nutmeg, cinnamon). Decent winter ale, light on the palate and very smooth.
