Leinenkugelís Snowdrift Vanilla Porter is a robust and velvety addition to Leinenkugelís seasonal selection. This porter-style beer is aged on real vanilla to reveal rich layers of caramel, coffee and chocolate that is ideal for the season.

Only a mild rep to what a Xmas porter should taste like. Mild malts with a bland finish. Slight bits of vanilla and wood are in a secondary taste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Light caramel with a slight floral scent. Alcohol smell present. Dark reddish brown, but clear pour with minimal head that disappeared quickly. A medium body, lightly bitter. Soft carbonation. I canít taste the vanilla but overall a nice flavoured beer.

On tap in a shaker. Pours brown with a beige head. Aroma of light dark malts, light chocolate, vanilla, and dough. Flavor the same, like a watered down porter. Average texture. Not great.

Not bad. Vanilla in the aroma doesnít mix as well as it does in the taste. Sweetness at first made me think of a baltic porter, but roast grains( and bitterness) are present under the vanilla. Slight bitterness on the palate, and overall mouthfeel is just a touch on the watery side. Otherwise, better than I expected.

Nice dark color and average head. Vanilla is not overly sweet some Carmel sand toasted hints.

Bottle. Aroma has notes of vanilla, chocolate, caramel, floral hops. Very dark brown that sits black in the glass. Average off-white head. Flavor is heavy sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium bodied and watery with average carbonation. Overall an average porter which is better than what I expected.

Couldn't see the color, as it went straight from the bottle to my gullet. Definite aroma of vanilla beans and caramel. Quite aqueous taste which doesn't match the expected aroma. Would have expected it to have more body - like an imperial stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From bottle in a pint glass. Pours dark grown with two finger head. Nose is roasted barley and vanilla. Body is medium to light for a porter. Taste is sweet with a little too much vanilla for my taste, not as balanced as I would like. One dimensional beer.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2014 To its credit, Snowdrift exceeded by expectations. The roasted malt character is okay, and the color is appealing. Still, it ends up falling short. Carbonation is bothersome, vanilla flavor is underplayed, and the malts offer more bitterness than chocolate sweetness. I probably wouldnít have this again, but I didnít have an altogether negative experience with this porter.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Dark reddish brown with a tan head that dissipated quickly. Aroma of grain and malts combined with some hints of vanilla. Taste is a bit watery, of coffee and caramel notes, I donít get much vanilla; some bitterness to it. Nice drinkable beer, quite decent.
