Dark opaque black, thin tan head; aroma a hint of chocolate; Flava the same plus dry roastiness notes of root beer sweetness; feels a tax light like soda; finishes dry and toasty

From the bottle, pours black with a short off white head. Aroma is light, but distinctly chocolate, some vanilla. Smooth, rich tastes of milk chocolate, vanilla beans, whipped cream and marshmallows. Subtle porter flavors and more like a stout. This is really good on a cold day.

The vanilla overtakes for me. I get Dr pepper and jack Daniels honey. Creamy, medium body. I like it and I don’t...too sweet?

Draft at Ted Montana in Chicago. Was expecting alot less, have never had to much luck with vanilla porters, but this beer was great! Aroma is faint and missing some body, but very smooth and wonderful vanilla finish.

Bottle:   Deep ruby, thin sudsy tannish head, little lacing.   Soft roasted nose, faint vanilla.   Toasted malts on the tongue, dusty/earthy vanilla follows.   Thankfully not as strong as others, but the vanilla does linger from start to finish, as I suppose it should.   Not as roasty as I would like for a porter.   Body and mouthfeel are average.   Toasted malt finish, vanilla notes but not bright.   Not a big porter, malty nor hoppy, with a vanilla that does seem somewhat artificial.   Not bad I suppose, but nothing I would reach for again.

Bottle. Pours deep brown with a beige head. Vanilla, milk chocolate, caramel candies, lightly roasted malts, and a hint of coffee. Very vanilla forward. Pretty good.

Very, very rich, and certainly not a good choice for a session beer. It is very delicious though.

Poured a dark red/brown with minimal beige head and lacing. Aroma was nice and was primarily of slightly roasted malts with a sweet, slightly fruity aura. The taste was not too bad: Roasted malts with hints of coffee and chocolate with a mild to moderate hop finish. Palate was decent. Overall, a fairly decent porter.

Draft at Park East. Poured a thinner super dark brown body with minimal head. Aroma started off with some celery and dry vanilla that leads to an artificial syrup along with green veggies. The body is thinner with subtle carbonation and a syrupy finish. Flavor is artificial vanilla, dark toast, green veggies. Blah and fake overall.

Pours a dark chocolate with a cream colored head. Scent has a bit of roasted malts mixed with chocolate and vanilla. The flavor follows suit. Fairly sweet upfront, the vanilla definitely comes in to play, but not overwhelmingly so and gives way to some pleasant roasted bitterness. Medium bodied. Quite a tasty brew, one that I’ll most likely revisit.
