COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Leinenkugel’s Snowdrift Vanilla Porter is a robust and velvety addition to Leinenkugel’s seasonal selection. This porter-style beer is aged on real vanilla to reveal rich layers of caramel, coffee and chocolate that is ideal for the season.

English pint. Pours a dark fizzy chocolate. Hints of chocolate and vanilla. A very tasty beer with just the right combination of chocolate and vanilla.

Alright, this dark brown beer with a heavy vanilla-esque flavors to add to it’s chocolaely porter presence is good, although it is somewhat lacking in lasting body. Still, I liked it.

Bottle. Pours clear dark brown with a small, frothy light tan head, short retention with spare lacing. Aroma is vanilla, roast and dark chocolate malt, prune and date esters with faint earthy hops. Flavor is malt dominant with vanilla notes, dark fruity esters and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

Deep mahogany with a large tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, vanilla, toffee and mild coffee. Taste of vanilla, caramel, chocolate and a touch of nuts and peanut butter.

There was nothing special about this porter...and I think they forgot the vanilla in my 6 pack. While the beer wasn’t offensive tasting, it was bland, had little head, no lacing and nothing special going for it. I would only drink this again in a pinch.

Bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lingering ring of tan foam. Aromas of roastiness, cocoa and light vanilla. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of vanilla, cocoa and light roastiness with a crisp lingering vanilla finish.

Tap. Pours a clear brown body with a minimal fizzy beige head that faded to a thin film. The nose is pretty minimal, especially with how cold it was served, but there is a little light roast, coffee, and vanilla bean. The flavor is pretty well dominated by the vanilla beans, so much so that it tastes pretty artificial. There’s some roast, chocolate, and a big of a black strap molasses like sweetness on the finish. Not bad, but a little too one dimensional to be really good.

(bottle - 12 oz - Night of the Titans 2013) Found a bottle in the fridge near the end of the night so I tried it. Brown pour with a light puffy head. Sweet vanilla and roasted malt aroma, almost like a roasty milkshake. Flavor has some of that mildly fake vanilla extract flavor mixing with some light and watered down coffee with some cocoa stirred in. Not bad but nothing special either. Decent porter.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a quickly disappearing tan head. Big vanilla aroma, with tones of chocolate and coffee. The vanilla may not taste natural, but there’s no mistaking its flavor. Slighly bitter, cocoa finish. Creamy texture with average carbonation. A little thin but its a simple recipe that works well for the Winter. Probably my favorite Leiny offering.
