COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Leinenkugelís Snowdrift Vanilla Porter is a robust and velvety addition to Leinenkugelís seasonal selection. This porter-style beer is aged on real vanilla to reveal rich layers of caramel, coffee and chocolate that is ideal for the season.

Bottle. Deep rich brown color with a faint creamy head. Light malty aroma. Smooth roasted malt taste with a hint of vanilla and some coffee. Slightly sweet with a pleasant full feel in the mouth. I like my porters a bit more robust, but this is a nice variation on the standard porter style.

Pours dark brown with quick diminshing brown head. Sweet caramel malt and vanilla on the nose. Mellow chocolate malt, roasted malt and vanilla. Pretty much what youíd expect. Soft mouthfeel and smooth drinking. Fairly creamy texture. Better than I expected because the vanilla, while fairly prominent is not as overpowering than other vanilla porters Iíve had. Porters donít excite me and this in not exception but itís definitely decent and one Iíd drink occassionally in the winter months.

Poured a deep brown/black with a very small head. Nose had hints of the vanilla with a heavy roast. A little lively on the tongue, the flavor is actually a little sweet at first then a heavier smoky malt with the advertised chocolate notes comes in at the end. Nice sipper at the end if the day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma is a sweet chocolate malt. Taste is a little bit of toasted malt with some coffee, vanilla, and chocolate. Overall good just not enough flavor.

Toasty and roasty. A bit much. Decent in the palate. Coffee, chocolate, woody. Decent ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark with orange highlights and clear. Creamy looking head. Chocolate and roasted malt nose. Rich palate, sweet, full, just a tiny vanilla taste at the end, the way I like it. (gas statiion growler, thanks Bob!)

Holy goodness, I love this style of porter! Roasted coffee and vanilla aroma. Taste is similar, with the addition of vanilla and chocolate. Very dark with off-white head, some lacing. Very well done, and my favorite vanilla porter, perhaps with the exception of Atwater Blockís Vanilla Java Porter. Lots of breweries make attempts at this but most of their offerings just donít seem to nail it, in my opinion. Complex but easy-drinking and downright delicious.

Bottle: The aroma consists roasted nuts, light caramel, chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. It pours a dark brown with some faint orange highlights. It has a small beige head that quickly fades to a ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of sweet chocolate, caramel, and vanilla notes. The finish has light-moderate roasted nuts with a touch of coffee. Itís light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, considering itís from Leinenkugel, I expected it to be much sweeter. Itís not that sweet and the vanilla isnít over the top.

Hard to justify this as a porter. More like a brown ale. Deep dark reddish-brown hue that lets light through. Pours thin with a large foamy cream colored head. Thin lacing. Overall pretty easy to drink of you like sweat vanilla lead with malty finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown with red highlights and a very large tan head that is partially diminishing. Great lacing - thin yet even. Vanilla bean hits you foremost upon the first sniff, though it is quickly replaced by roasted nuts and lightly charred coffee. Mildly roasty flavor, balanced between bitter and sweet, with the vanilla nearly (but not quite) hidden underneath mild coffee, toasted grains and nuts. Medium bodied with a soft, fine carbonation. A rather easy drinking porter, perhaps a bit light on heartiness, but tasty and accessible.
