COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Leinenkugel’s Snowdrift Vanilla Porter is a robust and velvety addition to Leinenkugel’s seasonal selection. This porter-style beer is aged on real vanilla to reveal rich layers of caramel, coffee and chocolate that is ideal for the season.

Not bad. Vanilla in the aroma doesn’t mix as well as it does in the taste. Sweetness at first made me think of a baltic porter, but roast grains( and bitterness) are present under the vanilla. Slight bitterness on the palate, and overall mouthfeel is just a touch on the watery side. Otherwise, better than I expected.

Nice dark color and average head. Vanilla is not overly sweet some Carmel sand toasted hints.

Bottle. Aroma has notes of vanilla, chocolate, caramel, floral hops. Very dark brown that sits black in the glass. Average off-white head. Flavor is heavy sweet and medium bitter. Palate is medium bodied and watery with average carbonation. Overall an average porter which is better than what I expected.

Couldn't see the color, as it went straight from the bottle to my gullet. Definite aroma of vanilla beans and caramel. Quite aqueous taste which doesn't match the expected aroma. Would have expected it to have more body - like an imperial stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From bottle in a pint glass. Pours dark grown with two finger head. Nose is roasted barley and vanilla. Body is medium to light for a porter. Taste is sweet with a little too much vanilla for my taste, not as balanced as I would like. One dimensional beer.

UPDATED: MAY 22, 2014 To its credit, Snowdrift exceeded by expectations. The roasted malt character is okay, and the color is appealing. Still, it ends up falling short. Carbonation is bothersome, vanilla flavor is underplayed, and the malts offer more bitterness than chocolate sweetness. I probably wouldn’t have this again, but I didn’t have an altogether negative experience with this porter.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Dark reddish brown with a tan head that dissipated quickly. Aroma of grain and malts combined with some hints of vanilla. Taste is a bit watery, of coffee and caramel notes, I don’t get much vanilla; some bitterness to it. Nice drinkable beer, quite decent.

12 oz. bottle served in shaker- poured a transparent darkened maroon when held to the outdoor light source. One finger head disappeared as I lit up to a thin ring round the glass. Aroma of bourbon (how the hell did that get in there?), vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, and a hint of maple wood waiting to be put in the fire. Hits the mouth with a medium body, very light considering the style, some vanilla from the start with coffee pairing it at the start, holds up well in the middle, finish does get a little watery. It’ll do for watching my Packers whoop some Cali ass- GO PACK GO!

Bottle @ home, picked up at RJs Fort Collins. Still deciding if I should "party" with Dunt. Pours a clear, deep reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Spicy, sweet cereal, vanilla, chocolate aroma. Fairly sweet, Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa, vanilla, caramel candy, a bit woody/grainy flavor. Drinks pretty fucken good.
