Funny, I love vanilla, and I love a good, malty porter. They are birds of a feather, sweet, dark, aromatic, but somehow they never work together for me. No different in this one, I keep thinking, "what would it taste like without the vanilla?

Bottle. Pours dark brown. Small tan head. Aroma of sweet chocolate. Flavor of vanilla and chocolate with coco on the back end. Low carbonation. Very dry finish. Overall a decent beer. Biggest negative is that its a bit thin.

Bottle at a party. Poured a dark mahogany with a white top that lasted throughout but little to no lacing. Taste of nuts (either pecan or hazelnut), vanilla, cream soda, caramel malts, and slight coco and sweet malts. Nicely carbonated. All in all, nothing special but not bad

From the bottle, pours black with a short off white head. Aroma is light, but distinctly chocolate, some vanilla. Smooth, rich tastes of milk chocolate, vanilla beans, whipped cream and marshmallows. Subtle porter flavors and more like a stout. This is really good on a cold day.

Bottle. Pours a dark walnut brown with ruby highlights and a thin tan head. Aroma is nutty sweetness and roasted malt. Flavor is dark roasted malt, caramel and vanilla lingering all the way through the finish. Medium bodied with light carbonation and an almost syrupy mouthfeel. It’s a good seasonal if a bit overpowering with the vanilla.

Dark beer with a slight amber hue. Aroma is neutral, somewhat metallic. Mouthfeel is very smooth, just a hint of bitter fizzy. Tastes like molasses, malty, and vanilla. Good beer.

12 oz. Bottle. A one dimensional brew that reminded me of Altwater’s Vanilla Porter. Just a lot of vanilla and not much else. Sickeningly sweet.
