2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
I had higher hopes for this to be honest. It has some slight chocolate, vanilla, and malty taste, but retains absolutely no head at all. Would rather Yuengling Porter or Dundee Porter anyday.

UPDATED: JAN 18, 2013 Ok but a little lacking. Decent flavors and some hops in the finish. Not a fan of this one.

2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown color with a rapidly dissipating head. Slightly bitter with a vanilla, coffee finish. It was not as full bodied or as rich as I expected for a porter.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours deep brown with almost no carbonation and no head to speak of. Roasty aroma with caramel notes. Coffee and chocolate flavor with vanilla. Would have liked some carbonation, but a pleasing brew nonetheless.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Drank from the bottle. Vanilla in the nose masks a hint of porter roast. The flavor is a bit flat, but it warms takes a dimensional milk chocolate note. Thereís not a lot of roast or cacao notes like I associate with porter. Vanilla lends s fair bit of sweetness. The finish has a slightly unpleasant cardboard taste at first when cold, then gets just s bit sweet when warmer.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not very full bodied for a porter, and the vanilla tastes strong, but artificial. Iíd prefer if it was hinted at in a more full body beer.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
I think thereís a little vanilla in a lot of porters, but the focus on it here gives a yogurty, floral vibe thatís certainly tasty but serves more than anything else to make up for the lack of fullness and balance. Finish is sort of fakey and sticky. I wouldnít turn one of these down but itís nothing to rave about.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brownish black. Smells of roasted malt, dry hay, and coffee bean. Taste is malty, coffee, toast, and mildly sweet. Over all the other flavors and smells there is the added vanilla which seems artificial but I dont mind it. Very smooth bodied and drinkable brew. Reminds me alot of Leinenkugels Creamy Dark or 2 Below from New Belgium.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle into shaker. Pours clear deep red-brown with a finger of tan head that quickly collapses leaving minimal lacing. Aroma limps in with vanilla, coffee, roasted malt, and a touch of cocoa. Flavors follow the nose with medium vanilla sweetness and a light hop bitterness cutting through the maltiness. Medium-light bodied, with a thin texture, average carbonation, and a bit of an astringent finish.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: FEB 4, 2013 I am surprised this has the low ratings it has as of right now. Had this on draft and came dark with 1 finger of brown sugar head. Aroma was exactly what I thought it should be with a strong hit of vanilla and chocolate. It had a very strong but nice vanilla taste up front followed by sweet chocolate at the fnish. Mouthfeel was light to medium which I wanted as it is a porter with minimal carbonation. In my opinion, as it should with the style and name.
