Bottle. Deep cola pour with a small beige head. Artificial vanilla aroma. A hint of roast and chocolate. Pretty thin on the palate. Just okay, but drinkable.

Dark brown in color, tan head. Nice aroma a tad light with the vanilla but the porter malts come through nicely. Nice flavor this was a good after dinner beer or a good pasta beer.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 badgerben (4253) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - NOV 24, 2012
Dark brown color with a whispy head. Aroma of vanilla bean. Slightly bitter chocolate flavor. Light vanilla. Not really sweet or bitter, but maybe a bit astringent.

Pour out of 12 oz bottle, dark brownish black pour with thin slightly off white/tan head, aroma brought notes of vanilla, slightly artificial but not bad, some slight roast, coffee, caramel, hints of cocoa powder as well. Taste is very straightforward, vanilla notes mix right into coffee, chocolate, and finishing with some roasted malts, slightly bitter. While its straightforward, I actually like this style of beer, so it worked for me. A bit thin on the palate.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ChainGangGuy (4123) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - NOV 22, 2012
12 ounce bottle - $1.79 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a very dark brown body with a small-sized, very short-lived, beige head.
Smell: Slight chocolate, modest roasted malt, and the namesake vanilla.
Taste: As with the smell, it’s more of the same -- some chocolate, caramel, mild roast, and the vanilla. Sufficiently sweet. Slight earthy, not quire bitterish tone midway. More of the same through to the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-light carbonation. Reasonably smooth, slick mouthfeel overall.
Overall: Snowdrift comes across as the Creamy Dark but with some vanilla additive added.

Brown pour with hints of red and off white head. Aroma is light roasted malt and vanilla. Flavor is sweet malt and alot of vanilla. Pretty dominated by a fake vanilla flavor. A tad of a sour finish. Medium body with ok carbonation. A roast malt bitter and a sweet vanilla finish. A beer I could but wouldn’t drink 6 of.

The aroma is toasted and sweet with light but definite chocolate, vanilla, coffee, and adjunct malt. The appearance is red brown with a thin head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall easy to drink but nothing special, pretty much a macro.
2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 JK (3966) - Uptown, Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 9, 2012
Not very good. Black. Light vanilla in the aroma and under-flavored. Some malt, but I certainly wouldn’t call it rich, as the palate is rather thin. There are several better vanilla porters out there.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 kramer (3880) - Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 5, 2013
Tap. Pours a clear brown body with a minimal fizzy beige head that faded to a thin film. The nose is pretty minimal, especially with how cold it was served, but there is a little light roast, coffee, and vanilla bean. The flavor is pretty well dominated by the vanilla beans, so much so that it tastes pretty artificial. There’s some roast, chocolate, and a big of a black strap molasses like sweetness on the finish. Not bad, but a little too one dimensional to be really good.

Bottle: The aroma consists roasted nuts, light caramel, chocolate, and a hint of vanilla. It pours a dark brown with some faint orange highlights. It has a small beige head that quickly fades to a ring around the edges of the glass. The flavor starts with a quick dose of sweet chocolate, caramel, and vanilla notes. The finish has light-moderate roasted nuts with a touch of coffee. It’s light bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, considering it’s from Leinenkugel, I expected it to be much sweeter. It’s not that sweet and the vanilla isn’t over the top.
