Leinenkugel’s Snowdrift Vanilla Porter is a robust and velvety addition to Leinenkugel’s seasonal selection. This porter-style beer is aged on real vanilla to reveal rich layers of caramel, coffee and chocolate that is ideal for the season.

12 oz bottle. Pours a solid black. Not much aroma. A nice lacing of head on the top of the glass, and has nice retention. The taste is full of vanilla, especially when served at a warmer temperature. This beer is very flavorful compared to other Leinenkugel's brews. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle to pint. Looks decent; a semi-transparent reddish-brown with fluffy light beige head that slowly dissipates into lacing. Smells of malt and vanilla. Tastes like it smells, but better. Solid on the palate too. This one exceeded my expectations.

Tap. Started out with such potential. Nice brown amber color. Decent head and some lace. Aroma, was wonderful. Oaky vanilla. But the taste was a let down. Blend of favors was really good just weak and watery.

Beautiful dark red in color, goes down smooth, you can smell the vanilla and caramel and you can taste the vanilla and caramel with an after taste of chocolate and a hint of coffee

Very deep mahogany colored beer when held against the light. Thin beige head. Nose of vanilla extract. Very big vanilla extract flavor with a little bit of the chemical/artificial taste that I get in some of the vanilla porters, it is not too intrusive. Some caramel sweetness, milk chocolate, and faint roasted grains, all of which are coated by the vanilla. As is warms there is some burnt caramel corn notes. Not a bad use of vanilla in beer.

UPDATED: JAN 25, 2014 Bottle->pokal. Dark brown with nice tan head. Aroma has malt and dark fruit. Taste is coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and roasted malt. OK, but a little muddled.

Brown pour with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malt and slight vanilla. Taste is blah. A little metallic at the aftertaste. Vanilla was weak.

Complex aroma, but one that was ultimately a little disappointing -- dark, toasty/roasty/coffee malt, a little dogginess and earth, tar, very light nutty sweet. Almost opaque, twistoff longneck, cluttered label. Acidic coffee, vanilla bitterness, dry. Earthy on the lips. Medium-light body. Mild vanilla tones in the finish. Not cloying. Reasonably smooth, lacks a certain richness. Publix, I-10 @ Thomasville Rd.
