COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Leinenkugel’s Snowdrift Vanilla Porter is a robust and velvety addition to Leinenkugel’s seasonal selection. This porter-style beer is aged on real vanilla to reveal rich layers of caramel, coffee and chocolate that is ideal for the season.

Draft at Ted Montana in Chicago. Was expecting alot less, have never had to much luck with vanilla porters, but this beer was great! Aroma is faint and missing some body, but very smooth and wonderful vanilla finish.

Not bad. Light vanilla notes mix with the dark chocolate-caramels of the base porter. easy drinking and unremarkable but still nice enough to drink. Dark garnet color, modest head.

Alright, this dark brown beer with a heavy vanilla-esque flavors to add to it’s chocolaely porter presence is good, although it is somewhat lacking in lasting body. Still, I liked it.

Poured one into a pint glass for a proper review. Pours a ruby-tinted cola color. Thin off-white head on top. Aromas of vanilla, chocolate, dry grains. Pretty basic scent, but I didn’t expect much. Nothing off-putting. Moderate mouthfeel, with some carbonation bite. A little on the thin side, but in no way is this watery or slick. Again, pretty average feel. Good balance of vanilla sweetness, semi-sweet chocolate, and yeasty bread. Mild bitterness. This is an easy one to quaff. I was afraid this would be overpowering in its sweetness, but this was well balanced. A simple beer that was well-made. I’d have it again.

Clear black with a thin foamy light beige head. Nose is a little toasty with a bit of caramel and dark cocoa roastiness. Flavor is lightly roasty with lots of caramel and a light touch of cocoa and a faint kiss of coffee. Mostly roasted earthy sweet caramel. Medium body with nice roasty dessert-y sweetness.

Yes this beer is big on vanilla and short on hops. However, it works for me. Nice dark pour with an off white head. Is p ethos a bit sweet, which is mostly what people complain about. This is a seasonal beer, and I look forward to it every winter. A good porter.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2014 Growler filled at Pecos in Wilmington DE. Nice vanilla nut aroma. Good lookin stout black with thick tan head. I taste vanilla with cherry, nut, sarsaparilla, licorice, toffee. Porter character emerges as it warms. Good stuff, and easily the best that I’ve tried from Leinenkugels.

Pours deep brown with red backlights.....short, whipped, tan head. Scent is malt, vanilla..a little nutty. Taste is chocolate and vanilla....creamy. A little bit thin, but a very nice, sweet flavour....a nice dessert beer...and a bargain for the price.

Bottle. Nearly black colored body with a very thin light tan head. A leathery nose of cherries and vanilla. There is also coffee to complement with some roast. A thin and highly carbonated body has a slick smooth feeling in the mouth. This tastes of vanilla noted medium roast coffee. There is also some bit of milk chocolate. Actually, this is nicely done with some subtle vanilla. Better than expected.
