Great amber ale. Asked Brass Rail owner who made it and he told me that Leinenkugles did special for them and even sent them a nice looking tap handle. Enjoyed the taste and had too many leading to a wisconsin princess(6-1, 275) taking me home. All i can say is that I loved the beer.

Tap labeled as Leinenkugel special ale Who’s Brew. Pours light copper with white head mild aroma of toasted grain and a bit of sweetness. The taste is heavy on the grain side and empty on the hop side. There is a quirky dry bitter grainy feel, there is a slight sweetness under but overall it’s bland and straight forward for an amber.

Served at the Cheeseburger in Paradise chain under the title Paradise Beach Ale.

Appearance: Clear, copper body with a very thin, though enduring white head.

Smell: Mild nose of pale malts, mildly bready, with a top note of Brach’s caramels.

Taste: Lightly bready pale maltiness with some caramel sweetness present. Very, very low fruitiness. Near nil hop character and only lightly bitter. Mainly the sweetness is balanced out by a last minute burst of fizz on the clean finish.

Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Just a skosh above medium carbonation.

Overall: This one made me think of AB’s American Ale, it’s nothing too exciting but serves as a sufficient, tidy beer.

On tap at Ditka’s as Iron Mike Amber. Pours clear orange. Nice sweet caramelly malty flavor. A little fruity with a little touch of hops and a crisp finish. Not too flavorful, but pleasant, good session beer.

Amber color with little head. Malty taste, fairly sweet. Clean finish. Not much going on for me.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.

On tap at the Pink Pony on Mackinaw Island. Aroma has notes of caramel malts, cereal, grassy hops and citrus. Medium amber hue with a small mostly diminishing white head that left little lace. Flavor is medium sweet and bitter. palate is medium bodied and watery average. Overall a malty pale ale that didn’t really impress.

UPDATED: JUL 10, 2011 Date: July 1, 2011 Mode: Draft Source: Grandma’s Saloon and Grill, Duluth, MN Appearance: Translucent light brown color with thin head Aroma: Faint grainy smell Flavor: Starts with a slight bitter taste and finishes watery Other: Sold as Grandma’s Trusty Old Brew. Would not order again as the watery finish reminded me of a crappy light beer. Could be the restaurant watered the beer down like the ranch dressing, hahaha.

AKA, Paradise Beach Ale for Jimmy Buffet’s Cheeseburger in Paradise bar and grill chain. A basic Pale Ale with a thickness, like a hint of syrup. Good, but I would never drink it again.
