For having a lemonade flavor added to it, this beer is not overly sweet on the palate. It is a great beer to sip on the beach, by the lake, on a boat, or just anytime during the summer. Easy to drink a few of them without getting sick of the lemon flavoring.

Leinenkugels summer shandy. This beer is a guilty pleasure, not a beer for a purest. Pours cloudy yellow. Smells of lemon, yeast, wheat. Taste is lemon, lemon meringue. The lemon taste is up front but finish is bready and mellow. Easy to drink and not over sweet. Nice summer beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: APR 6, 2014 Draught at Applebees. Lemon taste with a thin palate. Not a horrible summer beer but leaves something to be desired.

Pours a light gold with a moderate white head. Very fruity on the nose, lemony. Palate is the same. Has a very lemony finish. Would be pretty good on a hot summer day, but nothing special here.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance was a hazy golden colored body with a small white head, had minimal lacing, nothing spectacular. The smell had mild wheat and medium strength of lemon notes. The taste had some strong lemon with the mild wheat coming back, with a definite sweetness to it. The palate was light, sessionable, mild bitter aftertaste and finish. Overall, this is a summer "dessert" beer and perhaps malt drinkers might like it.

Meh. Cloudy yellow/orangish pour with a white marshmallow head that last quite a bit. The head is "sticky’ and leaves an artificial lacing on the glass. Aroma of lemon Pledge. This is a Wisconsin original, folks. People do in fact pour beer into lemonade here, I shit you not. Really, I’m not kidding. They do! So it doesn’t surprise me that some brewers are coming out with stuff like this. Thirst quenching and not horrible, but not overly good either.

Nasty. You could get better results mixing Bud with Lemonade. As a fan of Leinies products, this was a huge disappointment. It does smell nice and looks good in the glass.

Bottle: Turbid yellow, muddled & opaque with a wispy white cap. Smells like lemonade drink mixture, with a faint grain/skunk aspect in the back-end. Taste is the same... like a cheap, grainy, borderline skunky lager that didn’t cool the wort fast enough mixed 50/50 with lemonade drink. But not Country-Time... I mean, like, the Big Lots rip-off edition. I promise you, Leinie’s "Orange Shandy" is much, much better than this. Hell, even the "Lemon Berry Shandy" is better. This is pretty poor, all things considered.

Poured from bottle into pint glass: pours cloudy pale yellow with a one finger white head. Aroma of lemon pledge. Taste is lots of lemon, a little wheat, but pretty weak tasting. Thin body, not a lot of flavor, not offensive either.
