3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
As a shandy, not terrible. For those unfamiliar with the term shandy, it generally refers to lemonade mixed 50/50 with beer, but bottled shandy is usually much less beer. This is clearly only about 50/50-70/30. There is still some beer in here, and thatís good.
Pours a cloudy golden yellow, and stays cloudy. No real head. The aroma is lemony, as one would expect. Too sweet compared to the shandy I had last (In Bodrum, Turkey... Efes Pilsen and some homemade lemonade). The flavor reflects the aroma, just as one would expect. Mostly lemon, with some wheatiness following the lemon. The real problem is the carbonation. A shandy ought to be lightly carbonated, since the lemonade waters down the beer. This is very carbonated, and almost hurts to drink due to the bubbles. Yeah, I like me some flat beer.
Drink it cold, it goes down really smooth. GREAT after a hot day, and can be drank right from the bottle with no problems.

I actually kinda like this beer... it has a bit of the swampy carry over from a shared component with the sunset wheat that I didnít really like but still pretty good. Smell is light w/ some lemon rind w/ some light malts, pour is a corn like yellow w/ a full white head. Flavor is decent, goes real well w/ a warm day.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Strong lemon aroma with some malt aromas. Flavors are predominantly lemon with a little wheat and malts. After a few drinks, the beer basically tastes like lemonade. Nice for hot summer days, but gets boring after a couple of bottles.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Pours a hazy, maybe cloudy straw color with a one finger thick white head. Light lacing. Aroma is LEMON and light wheat malt. Flavor is light malt and lemon. Not as overpowering as the aroma. Light to medium body. No unpleasant aftertaste. The perfect Summer beer. Nice. Thanks Wendy and Bill.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The 12 ounce bottle poured a murky lemon yellow beverage with a huge creamy white head that lasted well and left good lacing on the glass. The aroma was, amazingly enough, just like lemonade ... sweet-sour-and lemony. The body was light with lively carbonation and a watery texture. The flavor starts out somewhat sweet with a sour edge to it and stays pretty consistent throughout the medium length finish. This is definitely a waterskiing or lawnmower beer ... but thatís ok because everything has its place and this will do a good job in its place.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. bottle, July 2. Pours a color thatís a lot like lemonade, but for the 1/2" head of dissolving foam. Lemony smell on top of a distinct wheat beer note. It does at least have some beer character, but is still more lemon than beer. Okay for the summer though. May stand up to any German Radler.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: AUG 21, 2007 OK, how do you go about rating this? As a "pure" beer, itís (of course) not even on the charts. But taken on its own as a unique summertime drink, it fares rather well I think. From a 12-oz bottle. It pours a cloudy light straw color with a surprisingly nice white head. Good lacing. Strong lemon aroma with faint graininess in the background. First taste is much like a neutral lighter wheat beer but then thereís an almost instantaneous whack of lemon. The lemon taste persists and actually seems to permeate oneís sinuses. Fairly light but surprisingly creamy mouthfeel. Not a sweet drink as I feared; itís actually pleasantly subtle. Far better than I expected (or even hoped).

taste like what it is, lemonade mixed with a pale lager. Very drinkable, as they donít really over pour the other flavors.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured a light golend with a small and quickly gone head. Aroma of lemons. Really full of carbonation and way too much with the lemons. No real hop accents that I could taste, maybe this could help balance it out a little more. Not really a "beer" per se, tastes more like it should be in the "Mikeís Hard" line of drinks. A real disapointment from the Leinenkugels.
