2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
The 12 ounce bottle poured a murky lemon yellow beverage with a huge creamy white head that lasted well and left good lacing on the glass. The aroma was, amazingly enough, just like lemonade ... sweet-sour-and lemony. The body was light with lively carbonation and a watery texture. The flavor starts out somewhat sweet with a sour edge to it and stays pretty consistent throughout the medium length finish. This is definitely a waterskiing or lawnmower beer ... but thatís ok because everything has its place and this will do a good job in its place.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 oz. bottle, July 2. Pours a color thatís a lot like lemonade, but for the 1/2" head of dissolving foam. Lemony smell on top of a distinct wheat beer note. It does at least have some beer character, but is still more lemon than beer. Okay for the summer though. May stand up to any German Radler.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: AUG 21, 2007 OK, how do you go about rating this? As a "pure" beer, itís (of course) not even on the charts. But taken on its own as a unique summertime drink, it fares rather well I think. From a 12-oz bottle. It pours a cloudy light straw color with a surprisingly nice white head. Good lacing. Strong lemon aroma with faint graininess in the background. First taste is much like a neutral lighter wheat beer but then thereís an almost instantaneous whack of lemon. The lemon taste persists and actually seems to permeate oneís sinuses. Fairly light but surprisingly creamy mouthfeel. Not a sweet drink as I feared; itís actually pleasantly subtle. Far better than I expected (or even hoped).

taste like what it is, lemonade mixed with a pale lager. Very drinkable, as they donít really over pour the other flavors.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Poured a light golend with a small and quickly gone head. Aroma of lemons. Really full of carbonation and way too much with the lemons. No real hop accents that I could taste, maybe this could help balance it out a little more. Not really a "beer" per se, tastes more like it should be in the "Mikeís Hard" line of drinks. A real disapointment from the Leinenkugels.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12 ounce bottle served from a small straight glass at the Milwaukee Grill in Janesville, WI, June 20 2007. Big, bubbly white head tops the hazy gold body, dying quickly and not really lacing the glass....lemonade, light spicy-tart wheat in the nose, faint raspberries and lime....lemony, dry, pretty thirst-quenching and quaffable body though itís certainly not exciting....fizzy, strongly carbonated and a bit artificial in the mouth, but reasonably full....really not at all bad, and if I were at my parentsí where I could get this for $5 a 6er Iíd be drinking a few on a hot day by the grill.

Ugh this beer should not even been considered "beer". It honestly tastes like someone spilled lemonade into a flat, bland wheat beer. The worst part is everyone is drinking it in Athens, OH so itís constantly offered in coolers and at parties. Isnít horrible and can I see why some people like it, but give me a crisp IPA in the summer months.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12 oz bottle from my roommate. Everyone is loving this beer around my apartment. So I had to give it a try. Lemonade and beer in the nose, hmm the same with the flavor. It smells and tastes like someone just mixed these two things in my glass. Except the beer is past its prime with a grainy/dirtyness to it. But at ratelemonade.com Iíd give the lemonade a high 3.5 +. The beer not so much.

Actually this is good. Very refreshing and natural tasting. Itís not too odd of a mix because Lemon and Hefeís go together very well. The mouth feel and apearence, are typical of wheat, but you do get more of a lemonade flavor as opposed to a strict "lemon" one. Itís not going to replace Hoegarrden but itís a nice change of pace.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
I have enjoyed Leinenkugels beers in the past but have to wonder about the wisdom in this effort. A wheat beer is such a wonderful thing and doesnít really need to be improved. Perhaps it will find a niche market. The beer itself tastes like someone poured lemonade in a hefe to the detriment of both. On the other hand it makes for a light easy drinking warm weather brew. My guess is that wine tasters donít rate wine coolers very highly and beer tasters wonít be kind to this.
