WVHouseofBeer (337), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA May 14, 2009 Updated: Aug 1, 2009Eww, is all I really have to say about this beer. Summer is in the name, refreshing is its game, but a brew with lemonade is lame. In what has to be an ugly step-child to Mike’s Hard Lemonade, this Leinie’s Lodge Summer favorite is far to sweet and lemony fresh to be considered a real beer. Back to the chopping block with this one! Hophead22 (1056), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA May 12, 2009 12oz bottle brought back from Nevada by DuffManSW, thanks Sean. Hazy pale yellow with a bright white fluffy head. Aroma is all lemons pretty much, not much else. Flavor is mostly lemonade, not my thing, but I can see how this would work on a nasty humid midwest summer day. DuffManSW (283), Riverside, California, USA May 10, 2009 Bottle from Lee’s Discount Liquor in Mesquite, Nevada.. Yet another Leinenkugels beer that I rated before Hophead22, and he’s a freakin cheesehead!! Pours a cloudy yellow with a white head.. Smell is sweet lemonade...Flavor is lemonade but it isn’t as sweet as the smell might lead you to believe...Im kinda getting tired of this after the second bottle. noncaloric (601), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 10, 2009 Cloudy yellow gold with an open white head. Aroma is a noseful of lemondrop candies, nice if you like lemon candy, which I do. Flavor has a lot of lemon aromatics, not much citric tartness. Underneath the lemon, the base beer is lacking: noticeable oxidation going on here, with some lactic bits in the finish. Thin to medium bodied, somewhat flat on the palate. tanner0042 (13), Minnesota, USA May 3, 2009 Smells and looks like a great beer for a hot summer day, with a cloudy yellow color and white head. Smells citrusy. I took my first sip and immediately thought, I know this taste, took me few seconds before it came to me, lysol, it taste like lysol smells. I have never tasted lysol so I can only compare it the smell. 00cobraR (1096), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Apr 25, 2009 pours out a cloudy yellowish color with a nice white head. aroma was sweet and citrusy. it tasted like a wheat beer with lemons. beerguy101 (3861), Newark, California, USA Apr 20, 2009 Sampled on 4/20/2009. This fruit beer pours a very hazy light yellow gold color from a 12oz bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head with nice retention. The aroma is semi sweet lemonade with a touch of ginger. A light bodied Shandy/Radler. The malts are fruity and sweet. The lemonade dominates the flavor. It’s light and refreshing, but not very beer like. Lively carbonation. It’s a decent 4.2% lemonade. It is a little on the sweet side, but I prefer my lemonade a little tart. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is crisp and clean. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. chicagodri (1021), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 19, 2009 Pours cloudy gold with a white head. Lemon aroma. Decent wheat for the selection of beers I had at the ballpark. Way to sweet though, which was a little weird.
