Someone spilled beer in my Mike’s Hard Lemonade! Pours a hazy yellow, smells like lemonade, tastes like lemonade, not that good.

Jungle Jim’s Second Spring Beer Fest
5/12/2007: Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy has a pale straw color with a foamy and fizzy white head that leave some delicate lacing. The aroma and flavor are both like tart lemonade made with real lemons and no sugar added. Very light, crisp, and totally refeshing. This beer has an ample level of carbonation, but it doesn’t really taste overly carbonated or too fizzy in the mouth. I’m satisfied and can see the niche for this beer, but it nearly borders on being more like a wine cooler than a beer. Still good, but it might be a bit emasculating to drink this one in public view!
Sampled from a 12 oz bottle.

Cloudy light-yellow pour with a thin white head. Aroma is of lemonheads candy. Strong lemon flavor with a bit of lime. Thin body and not much carbonation. I like lemonade so it’s not a total loss but it gets almost sickening when warmed. I really like their sunset wheat but this is pretty marginal.

"Weiss Beer With Lemonade," it proudly proclaims on the bottle. Looks like a Belgian Wit, a cloudy pale straw body with a tall creamy head. Oops. Head’s gone... after three seconds. Smells like lemonade. Tastes like carbonated lemonade with the seeds ground into it. I’d rather have real lemonade, then a good beer. They’d have to pump more alcohol into this one before I’d have it again.

This fruit beer is full of flavor...bursting with lemonade hints, pines, and limes. Not much of a beer though, more for the chicks who like to relax in the sun. Serve extra extra cold to kill the strange taste of half lemonade half beer taste. Decent

draft - Pours hazy yellow with a very citrus laden aroma that prominently features lemons. The flavor is light and lemony. Thin bodied, crisp, and refreshing, it works as a summer thirst quencher, but is rather lacking as a quality beer.

Bottle. Fresh lemon juice aroma. Cloudy light yellow with moderate head. Light lemon juice flavor - minimal sweetness. A less sweet thirst quencher.

Really unique pour.. like a fizzing whiksy sour. Smells of fresh cut lemons. Easy drinking lemon flavor seltzer water with some wheat in base.
For what this set out to accomplish I think it really hit the mark, doesnt taste nearly as artifical as their berry weis. Would love a little more malt to make it a beer... but as is for summer refreshment one of these could probably go down in a single chug.

UPDATED: JUL 5, 2008 Fruit beer styles, such a variety of flavors. 12 0z brown bottle for a $1 at Vintage Estates. Twist off the lid and you get a smell of lemon, lots of lemon and citrus and not of the hop variety. I can also detect some wheat beer smells in the background. Look just like a really nice wheat beer cloudy and all. The color of vanilla or off white, slightly yellow, but barely. There is not any gunk i on the bottom of the bottle and I don’t perceive any precipitants floating around in there. Interesting flavor, not sweet like lemonade. From the previous reviews I was expecting lemonade but this is not. Lemon flavored yes but it is not nearly as sweet. Perhaps it can be compared to unsweetened lemonade or something. Very good carbonation. I do sense some wheat stuff in there, you can tell it is a wheat based brew. Overall not bad for a fruit beer but for a wheat beer this leaves something to be desired. Lancaster strawberry wheat, whittekirke rose and Buffalo Bills Orange Blossom Cream Ale are better than this. However, this is much more palatable than Abita purple haze and Bar Harbor True Blue Blueberry Ale.
