In the bottle from MacDoogles in Pineville AR. Pours an orange-gold color with a chunky white head and huge carbonation bubbles. Aroma is awesome of passion fruit! The taste is citrus, much like a shandy. Lemon-lime. Has a medium sweetness. This is surprisingly a good beer. The body is thin like all Leineís, but tasty.

Bottle... Hazy, pear-colored ale with a small, creamy, white head. Fruity nose... tropical fruits mostly. Not your typical hefeweizen. Odd nose, even for an American wheat, but very nice. No banana or spice. The flavor is tangy, but even more sweet. Fruity, breadsy, perfumey. Light to medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes crisp and lightly tart. Thanks go out to MilkmanDan for bringing the bottle down from Minnesota!

bottle - Pours cloudy orange with a thin head. This one has a very assertive citrus aroma. The carbonation is light and the body medium, combining for a pleasant mouthfeel. The flavor is sweet with strong citrus notes and tastey spices. Sunset Wheat is an interesting and refreshing wheat beer. I enjoyed it.

Pale with small head. Aroma is of chemical apricots and not too pleasant.Starts watery and bland, gives way to an apricoty middle with lightly bitter hoppy tones and a slightly sour finish. Not good.

Served on tap at the Doolittle American Grill ($3.25) Alexandria, Mn. Pours with one finger white head that goes quickly leaving no lace. Cloudy amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Apricot nose. Starts with a apricot flavor but is nicely balanced, finish is clean.

UPDATED: JUN 12, 2006 Bottle (12oz). Cloudy yellow with a smallish fizzy white head. Incredibly fruity aroma, like a somewhat sweetened tropical fruit punch with plenty of herbal hops - I guess thatís the coriander - unique. Love that taste - less of the tropical fruit, yeasty sweet malt, plus plenty of those unusual hops - well balanced, not as sweet as you first assume based on that first sip. Mouthfeel is creamy, sweet yet acidic, lightly carbonated, the taste lasts a while - I"m not sure Iíd have this very often, but itís the most memorable American Wheat Iíve had.

Iím having one of these in a bottle right now. The first one I ever had was at the Chicago White Sox US Cellular Field (The Cell). They served it in a glass with a slice of orange. The orange went well with the coriander in the beer. This beer won silver or bronze at the 2006 World Beer Cup. Not exactly a constant beer to drink, but a nice diversion.

Very citrusy smell, pours cloudy with a medum head. Taste was kind of blah, but had citrus and wheat notes. Very carbonate. Finish wasnít terribly pleasent. Not one of my favorite wheat beers.
