Clear brown colour, white head. Malty aroma, caramel. Sweet flavour, caramel. Caramel finish. Not my cup of tea.

Bottle 25cl. Deep dark brown with fast fading head. Aroma has fruits but fades quickly too. Taste has nothing to do with the aroma. Bitterness, but not very pleasant. There’s an unusual dryness in the aftertaste.

The dark Leireken, also with buckwheat, also tasted as Leireken Boekweit Bruin. Light beige, mousse-like head, dark chestnut colour, lightly cloudy. Sweetish caramel profile with weak spicy accents and buckwheat sourishness, bit tart, roasted bitter accent in the finish. Could (and should) have been softer to be truly enjoyable.

Bottle 25 cl. Pours brown with a fast-fading head and an aroma of sweet fruits, spices, malts, toffee and yeast. This beer is light bodied, a bit sweetness and slight bitterness in the finish. Pretty forgettable beer.

From a bottle. Muddy brown coulour, little to no head. The aroma probably the most promising part - sweet, spicy, raisins. Taste relatively blunt bitter-sweet, leaving rather strange sour after-taste. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Quel ennui!
Earlier Rating: 11/9/2013 Total Score: 2.6
Brune classique, effervescence moyenne, mousse beige foncé.

Bottle. Tangy fruit, barrel-like notes. Light brown color. Moderately sharp sour initial / settles into light fruit: sweet plums, raisins / finishes with gentle carbonation, sweet malt, and a very slight bit of oxidation. Thin-medium body. Tasty and mild. Okay.
