Served as the beer of the month at the Tiergarten Quell pub in Berlin. Amazingly pleasant. Strong, but not overly strong. Flavorful. Plenty of body. Floral. Not particularly bitter. Honey and hints of citrus. For darkness be thy ally

The head is stable, the body orange. It smells creamy-flowery, alcoholic-creamy. The taste is mild, easy drinakable, malty, a bit creamy-alcoholic, hay. Ok, but could be a bit more intensive in my opinion. 12/10/11/10/-/10

Tap zur Tiergartenquelle. Cloudy orange-golden with a rocky beige head. Sweet with a fantastic malt-hops balance, plays really well with texture in the mouth. Wild clover honey-dripping, faintly floral. Medium body, süffig!

Brewpub in Berlin. Pours a very hazy amber, honey with thick white head. Aroma is very mild. Notes of nutty vanilla and mild hops. Flavor is quite sweet for a Maibock. Nutty, creamy flavors with mild hops. A very smooth blended flavor. Body is creamy with high carbonation.

UPDATED: MAY 17, 2014 Re-rate 5/5/14: Draught sample at the brewpub in Berlin. Hazy deep golden. Aroma of malt, caramel, and a candy-ish note. Sweetish flavor, malty, grainy, caramelly, a bit bready, quite anemic with a faint bitter note in the finish. Medium-bodied. 4/3/5/3/9=2.4

(6/17/08) Draught at the brewpub in Berlin. Listed on the board as "Sommerbock". Slightly hazy fine amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt and light toastiness. Sweet and caramelly taste with some alcohol notes. Medium-bodied. So-so. 6/4/5/3/11=2.9

A 10 cl draught sample at the brewpub. Said "Sommerbock" (with ABV 6.2 %) on the blackboard but I assume that it is the same beer. Shady amber, medium off-white head. Malty, fruity, and caramelly, with some notes of alcohol. Medium bodied and smooth. Good balance.

A somewhat hazy beer that has a malty with some hint of the alcohol in the aroma. The taste is much more alcohol dominated where it is almost outright blinding and then a advanced palate of esters and other tastes. Not a beer I could drink a lot of but the sampler glass I had was around the right amount, maybe a small (0,3l) would have been okay. More and the dominating alcohol would be problematic.
