Draught. Medium high creamy and lasting off-white head. Clear dark brown body. Mild sweet malty caramel aroma. Fruity light sour caramel flavor with little hops bitterness, low carbonation and a short aftertaste.

06/03 Draught at the brewpub. It poured reddish to brown body with medium sized head. Strange malty nose, some smoked meat. Boring sweetish flavor made up from bit of coffee, somewhat caramel and hint of wood. Medium body, but it had long, sweet caramelly finish. Fine, ordinary and pretty boring dunkel, so typical. Unlike my friend, I found this Lemke beer to be least satisfying.

nbutler11 (1267) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - MAR 25, 2010
On tap at the brauhaus in Berlin. Pours dark amber in color with a frothy beige head. Smells of malt and craisins (house flavor?). Unfortunately shallow in flavor with a timid note of toffee. Meh.

tomer (1620) - Rishon Le Zion, ISRAEL - MAR 25, 2010
draught at the brewpub, crystal clear brown colour with reddish taints, aroma of light roasted malt and biscuit, medium bitterness with a toasty maltiness and some biscuit, a bit bland and simple

OleR (4759) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 17, 2010
Vom Faß im Brauhaus Lemke, Mitte. Low, dense, egg-shell colored head. Body is foggy, ruby brown. Caramelly malts and some fresh, dark fruits in the aroma. Taste is medium malty, slight peppery and toffee-ish. Also a nice, slight sour berry fruitiness, and some grassy hop notes. Mid-bodied. Dry, chalky in the mouth. Highly drinkable.

Marko (3878) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - MAR 9, 2010
Draught at the Hackescher Markt location. Poured a hazy radk red body with a small off white head. Light caramelly nose. A nicely sweet taste, Woody, perfumey and polleny. Slightly bready, eggy. Some bitter herbal hopiness, some yeastiness that clashes with the rest. Bitter aftertaste too. Got better as it warmed.

100ml bierprobe at the brauhaus am Hackescher Markt. Hazy amber appearance. Fragile lacework on the glass. Plain malty to the nose. Fresh and prominent taste of caramel malts, mid-sweet and modest roastiness. Smooth bitter endnotes. Likable (Berlin, 23.11.2009).

On tap at the brewpub 27/09/09. Deep, ruddy amber with a decent off-white head. Sweet aroma of fruit and toffee. Flavour had plenty of caramel, doughy malts and a sweet finish. Ok.

Draught @ Brauhaus Lemkes am Schloß, Luisenstraße 1, 10585 Berlin-Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany.
Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, nutty, light dusty, light to moderate hoppy. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20090917]

ladnewton (1373) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - SEP 27, 2009
Draught, at Lemkes Spezialitätenbrauerei, Berlin, on 26th September 2009. Russet red with off-white vanishing head of foam. Some rich malt aromas of biscuit/cookie initially, followed by a highly flavoursome, delicately balanced "focus" of flavour in which a grassy hop is met and matched by a rich cookie malt. The result is a full-spectrum very tasty beer on a zingy, tongue-tickling mouthfeel. This beer stood up very well to the meal of sausage, sauerkraut and German mustard that accompanied it - great stuff!
