Chronologically, RB says this was my 777th German rating. Tap at Lemke’s, known as ’Winterbock’. Deep, dark chestnut with a rocky, lacing beige head. Nose is sweet toffee, caramel, fruit, very inviting. Taste is sweet, lightly fruity and yeasty brewpub generalities. Low sour note plus subtle earthy bitterness. Medium-full body, creamy with little carb and little stickiness, but rounded and repeatable.

Amber-brown. Chewy caramel nose with light fruitiness. Sweet, with some caramel character. Kind of husky. Limited.

Beershine (5218) - The Sunshine State, Florida, USA - FEB 11, 2011
Draft @ brewpub. Nice red color with lasting cap. Smells sweet and spicy. The mouthfeel has nice heat in the background. The spicy overtones are nice, I think this one the best of the ones sampled. At the other outlet of Lemke, however, the beer had a diacetyl problem and slight tang...and the atmosphere was even worse than in the main one.

Unclear hazy medium orange amber color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, brown sugar, licorice - anis, nutty notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20091204]

henrikb (1259) - Aarhus, DENMARK - DEC 29, 2008
Very dark amber body, fine off white head; Very very little but quite pleasant fine malt aromas, dark malt sugars too, with time in he glass the aromas grow but only to the unpleasant sugary sweet; Very soft carbonation and texture on quite malt sugary sweet body; Long sweet finish, some malt bitterness. Very simple boring beer.

joergen (21081) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - DEC 6, 2008
Draught at the brewpub. Hazy orange coloured with a small off white head. Sweet aroma dominated by caramel with malty notes and notes of dried fruits. Fruity flavour of caramel, dried fruits and malts with notes of alcohol and hops. Hoppy and warming alcoholic finish.
