2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
The worst beer in their portfolio of four I tasted at the Dickenstr/Railway Arches while in Berlin during Feb 2013. My taste buds vary greatly to a lot on here though, so make your own mind up!
I found the taste bland and boring.
The beer is a murky amber/gold with a white head that faded quickly.
Very little aroma: some semi-sweetness maybe and a yeast whiff as it warmed in the glass.
Strange feel to the beer: not quite finished or ’green’ somehow. Couldn’t take to it at all: much prefered the ’Original’ and had trouble finishing my glass of this. Had all the ingrediants of a good beer, they just didn’t add up to the correct finished article in my opinion.

Slightly hazy golden colour, firm white head. Aroma of bread, malts and hops. Quite fruity. Flavour bit light, somewhat sweet, malty, some hops. The nicest one tasted at Brauhaus Lemke that day.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught at the Mitte location. Lacing white head on a slightly hazy orange body. No significant nose. Lightly sweet, light yeast prickling and light tanginess. Light-medium body, low hops clearing the palate. Pretty good example of a brewpub Zwickl.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
My Bottom Line :
Diplomatic honeyed malts approach minty hops and take them to a quiet conclusion in this balanced but boring Zwickelbier.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam tops the misty dark golden.
-Bitterness is too low for my liking, especially since the malts or sugars don’t even attempt to fill the void in the aftertaste.
-Dusty edges are found.
-This is quaffable, but eminently forgettable.
-Natural carbonation might have served this flavor profile better.
On tap at the Hackescher Markt location.
