Draught at Lemkes am Schloss, the former Luisen-Bräu. Fruity aroma with a spicy hoppiness. Cloudy caramel colour. Stable, bubbly light brown head. The flavour is slightly sweet with a good aroma hoppiness, spicy and nice. High carbonation. Finishes with a slightly rough bitterness and not very clean.

On tap @ Lemke, Berlin. Pours a slightly hazy orange with a white head and some lacings. Malty with hints of flowery and slightly fruity (apples?) hops. Medium bodied. Medium to soft carbonation. Dry, hoppy finish.

Slightly hazy golden colour, firm white head. Aroma of bread, malts and hops. Quite fruity. Flavour bit light, somewhat sweet, malty, some hops. The nicest one tasted at Brauhaus Lemke that day.

Draught at the Mitte location. Lacing white head on a slightly hazy orange body. No significant nose. Lightly sweet, light yeast prickling and light tanginess. Light-medium body, low hops clearing the palate. Pretty good example of a brewpub Zwickl.

My Bottom Line :
Diplomatic honeyed malts approach minty hops and take them to a quiet conclusion in this balanced but boring Zwickelbier.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam tops the misty dark golden.
-Bitterness is too low for my liking, especially since the malts or sugars don’t even attempt to fill the void in the aftertaste.
-Dusty edges are found.
-This is quaffable, but eminently forgettable.
-Natural carbonation might have served this flavor profile better.

Draught. Medium orange colour with a thin head. Aroma of malt and citrus. Flavour is hops and an orange background. Finish is fruity and dry bitter

Tap@BrewpubS-Bahn. Bit grainy aroma but well hopped. Yellow, light hazy, off-white head, good lace. Light fruity, well hopped. Balanced and not clean or crisp. Flavourful and easy going.

Draught at Brauhaus Lemkes am Schloß (Charlottenburg - Berlin).
Hazy golden color, very bubbly and with a creany and resistance head. Pleasant nose of malty and hop, alcoholich notes perception. Good and crisp taste, refreshing and grassy final.

(Draught at Tiergarten Quelle, Berlin, 20 July 2010) Pale amber colour with frothy, white head. Malty, spicy nose with notes of light toasty malt, bread, orange and hints of apricots. Malty, slightly fruity taste with light toasty malt, orange, apricots and a mild spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, balanced sweetness. Quite nice.

Colour is dark golden with light creamy top. Aroma is malt, light spice, honey and fruit. Flavour is malty, light spice and fruity notes.

Pours orange golden with an off-white head. Aroma is malt, light spice, honey and fruity notes. Flavour is malty, light spice, honey and fruity notes. Light bitter.
