clong83 (142), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA Jun 1, 2008 Mildly hoppy Pale lager. You can actually taste the hops in it, and it has a rather crisp taste to it for the style. Not a bad showing for what it is. DirtyJerd (61), Edinboro, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 24, 2008 not as bad as the $9 for a case would suggest. dark with an almost sweet, honey-like finish. recommended for drinkers on a budget. ansermadide (160), Kyle, Texas, USA Mar 13, 2008 As I lifted the lid on the bottle I wasn’t too impressed by the scent that crept out of the mouth. Poured an incredibly amber color with a healthy head for a lager. Tastes pretty standard. A little sweet & sour as it goes down the hatch. As the commercial description says, "first is always best," well, false advertising. Seems like one of those beers that would have a cult following in Missouri (anyone from Missouri?) but doesn’t have much of a leg to stand on elsewhere. I don’t like knocking beers, but there really isn’t that much else to say. cheapdark (1526), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 1, 2008 New at my beerstore. Cool name, cool label. America’s first lager, I wonder how true that is? Slightly darker than pale yellow in appearance. Tea froth head. No real menacing attributes, rather friendly and drinkable. Aroma has some metallic hints. Acceptable pale lager for the most part. Probably should be under the premium lager style. Linus_Stick (1481), Moon Township, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 26, 2008 More tasty than the usual BMC products at least. Aroma was very distant and faint. Could pick up traces of metal and malt. Pour was a flat medium gold with no head. Taste was a little too sweet...almost all malt with hints of honey and metal. Blah
