3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 riversideAK (4570) - Shoreline, USA - APR 20, 2008
Nitro pour. Dark brown with a lasting creamy tan head. Light roasted malt flavor, mild sweetness, with an earthy bitterness. Seemed a little thin, but the body was creamy from the nitro. Pretty okay.

probably one of best and most consitant offerings from Lengthwise. Slight acidity from roast malts but not a detriment, actually blends nice with sub flavors of coffee and caramels... Not sweet, again slightly on the raosty side and maybe moving from a porter to a stout.. Give it a Robust porter for style, My personal guess is the name may help in marketing a dark beer with body to a location where it is rarely less than 95F in the Summer months.

On tap the brewpub. Dark amber-brown, decent dense head. Aroma-roasted malt, hint of chocolate, coffee. Taste-earthy, creamy, roasty, cocoa and coffee notes. Somewhat low carbonation. Very creamy, smooth mouthfeel.

On tap @ the brewpub. Clear deep dark ruby with a one finger cramy beige head, good retention--as a nitro should have. Loads of unsweetened chocolate up front with some moderate roasted malts. Flavor is much the same with hints of caramel and smoke, though the finish did turn a little burnt and ashy. Bitterness peaked around a 3 in the dry finish. Light prickly carbonation with a medium body. Not too bad.

On nitro tap. Poured a black color with a creamy brown head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Flavor was strong with coffee. Body was too light, but other than that this was a great beer.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 GG (1980) - NorCal, California, USA - MAY 22, 2007
Average porter here. Nothing really different about it except perhaps it was mostly coffee dominant with little else going for it in terms of complexity. Dark brown in color with light brown highlights. Slightly lactic in flavor, creamy with a dry finish. Coffee dominates the taste, just like it did in the nose. Easy drinking.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dogbrick (4843) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 20, 2006
Sample at the brewpub: Very dark brown color that lets little light through. Medium thin beige head with good retention and thin spotty lacing. Aroma of coffee and sweet malt. Medium-bodied and creamy with a fair amount of roasted coffee flavor, plus some caramel and malt too. The finish remains creamy and sweet, with a bit of coffee bitterness left over. Right up there with the Centennial as far as my favorites from this brewpub.

On draught. Tasted during trip to California. Very beutyful beer with a creamy white head , comes from the nitrogen. Darkbrown to black colour. Roasted malt flavour comes to mine when smelling it. Tastes of coffee, sweet and dry that ends up little bitter.
