Bottle bought at the brewery. Looks simple but good. Beer in the glass very dark, but not black. Starts mild, modest malty, not very dry. Finish a bit more fruity like plum. Well balanced, but too mild. Should be drier.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It’s a clear one, brown in color and with a small, dense beige head. Nutty, caramel nose with a fruity touch. The flavor is a bit dull, with nutty caramel maltyness and some roasted notes. A touch of bitterness too, but as said, a bit dull. Medium body. Far from bad, but nothing exciting. 110128

MoritzF (7402) - Bochum, GERMANY - APR 26, 2011
(bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Clear, dark brown and slightly ruby colour with a dense medium sized tanned foamy head. Mildly toasted malty aroma with subtle berry-fruity notes and a tinge of hops. Moderately sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Slightly toasty and leafy malty taste with shy traces of herbal hops; mildly sweet and shy bitter hoppy finish. Not that bad but also not really convincing for a Dunkel. 21.IV.11

500ml bottle (OPP, Helsinki, German Weeks 2009)
Really deep red, persistent off-white head. Though cold, this has a caramelly aroma first, and then that broadens to a wider malty aroma as it warms. Crisp carbonation, and ginger retronasals. Full malty body, decent roast, touch of ginger. Finish has both green hops and of course the sweet malty base. Lovely dunkel. I got some liquorice later, as it warmed.
