COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

5l-Partyfass from the brewery, same as Brasserie de l’Ill Storky Bière de Noel. Clear, deep golden, with a brown hue, large off-white head. Malty nose. Full-bodied, malty, hints of pine honey, vanilla. Slightly hoppy in the finish, very smooth palate. Very nice.

(hand-filled bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Clear, amber colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy layer. Toasty malty aroma with notes of caramel and nutty influences. Moderately sweet flavour, medium to light bodied with a smooth carbonation. Slightly toasted malty taste with notes of caramel, a shy nutty touch and herbal accents; sweet-bitter caramelly finish with a light but balancing hops character. 21.IV.11

Bottle (thanx to Quack-Duck!): Deep golden to light amber coloured, small - but still stable - head; delicate to moderate caramelly-nutty nose with a slight bitterness underneath; moderate sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied; a slight metallic tinge shows up in the faint bitter-caramelly finish. Not bad, but not really convincing....

500ml bottle (OPP, Helsinki, German Weeks 2009)
Deep red, small head. Very bocky aroma - a load of malt, some spices. Sweet bocky body, smooth carbonation, spicy ginger retronasals. Very full bodied maltiness, some graininess too. Ginger there also - lovely bock. Finish leaves you with sweet malts - it’s a bit sticky too - and decent husky graininess. I even got some choc later.

Bottled (without label)@One Pint Pub, Helsinki. Pale mahogany brown colour with mediumsized beige head. Aroma is caramel, fruits, wood and some mild notes of alcoholic sweetness. Flavour is toffee, quite malty and wooden notes along with some earthyness. Interesting beer, but not all that Xmassy.

(A bottle without a label at OPP German weeks ’09) Poured copper colour and clear with medium sized and white head. Aroma was quite weak and malty. Palate was medium bodied and bit on the dry side with medium carbonation. Tasted of malts, molasses and lightly bitterness. Sweet aftertaste. An easy-to-drink beer.
