Deep red black, good off white head and moderate condition. Sweet and gentle roasted coffee and delicate buttery notes in the nose, low sweet caramel and a little roasted bitterness in the mouth and a gentle sweet roasty finish.

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2013 Dark brown body with small light tan head. Odd dry caramel aroma with cereal and artificial malt extract. But that didn’t prepare me for the taste... Oh boy. Artificial sweetener, bubble gum, astringent ending.... What a mess. I was happy to find a stout in a French bar, but if the curious yet uninformed French would drink this... I feel for them. Even for a sweet stout it’s sweet, but the real problem is the artificial taste. Bleh. Perseverance and determination required to finish this monstrosity. If you have to tick this, keep another beer to the site to get rid of the nasty aftertaste. (33cl bottle at Gambrinus in Tours)

I usually like to elaborate when rating a beer but I have no idea what the hell this is even supposed to be. Who even classed this as a stout? If anything this is a (very) sweet brown ale along the lines of a VERY bad version of a Heineken Oud Bruin. It’s thin and watery with pretty much no mouthfeel at all. The one thing about this that hits you the most is the diabetes inducing assault of sugary sweetness on the tastebuds, which makes this beer insufferable. I actually feel annoyed that I paid money for this!

Dark, small head, low carbonation. Is this a stout? I taste only sugar and sweeteners. This is really bad.

Bottle (from Noel Cuvelier) at home - 20/10/12. Obscured copper brown (too light a shade for a stout in my opinion) with an off white head that soon clears. Nose is thin, comprises treacle toffee, lactose, brown sugar, dark fruit tones. Tastes of sweet toffee, sugar, more sugar - meh! Medium bodied veering towards watery, spritzy carbonation leading to a sweet finish. Sweet, shit - meh !

At Zythos 2008. Poured medium brown with a quickly disipating tan head. Aroma of muted sweet malt. Medium smooth bodied, flavour is sweet malt with a hint of caramel.

(bottle, 33cl) Dark brown colour with a beige and medium-sized foamy head. Sweet and skunky malty aroma with traces of molasses, beet sugar, vegetables and sulphur. Extremely sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a flat carbonation. Sugary malt-character, slightly roasted with molasses and veggie notes; artificially sweet and sticky finish. Undrinkable in my opinion. 12.VI.12

Clear dark brown beer, creamy beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: caramel, overripe fruits, bit flowery. MF: ok carbon, light to medium body. Taste: sugar, sugar, caramel, sugar, overripe banana, sugar, sugar, bit metallic and sugar. Aftertaste: ditto. Bluh.
