The traditional brewed stout, used to be a part of every brewery. This tradition may have been forgotten by some, but our locally brewed stout is still alive and kicking. The dark brown color with a slightly tanned foamy head, are inviting you to enjoy the slightly sugary sweet and very discreet candy aroma with slightly toasted malty notes. The sweet flavor, medium to light bodied with a soft carbonation brings out the dark caramel taste.. The aftermath complements the slightly fusty woody touch and sweet finish. 10.8°

Pours a dark red clear beer with a good white head. Smells honey, yeast and sweet. Sugar bomb. Only sugar, caramelish and honey. No carbo, thin body and a watery texture. Filthy.

Bottle 33cl. Clear deep chestnut brown, small frothy beige head, mostly diminishing, fair lacing; aroma is roasted malts, dark chocolate, brown sugar, caramel; taste is heavy sweet, sugary, licorice; medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, sweet sugary aftertaste, hint of bitterness in the finish; old-school Belgian stout, very much like a Dutch Oud Bruin.

F: thin pale brown, not long lasting. C: very dark red to dark, clear. A: caramel malt. T: very sweet, caramel, malt, some like fruity tones, light body, average carbonation, for stout very bad, I don’t understand why they brewed this.

A disaster. Has nothing to do with porter. Very water like, no taste of coffee, roasted beans or dark chocolate. Instead I tasted milk chocolate and brown sugar.

Bottle; pours dark brown with some reddish tints with a beige head; aroma is sweet with roast malt, sugar, and a little caramel; taste is quite sweet with no really stout bitterness; kind of disappointed in this one

Bottle from Beer52. Pours dark brown/black half a finger off white head. Aroma of malts, spices, toasty malts, sugary sweetness, caramel, honey. Taste of initial sugar, caramel, almost a malt liquor, toffee, sarsaparilla, light smokiness. Not bad, just very sweet.

Bottle. Bought this a little blind. Nose: Non-existant slight malt a little sugar and wet cardboard. Taste is horrific. Sugar and sweet malts, with a sickly finish. Slight emerging milk chocolate, but really it’s just sugar. My first Het Sas beer, and I will not be rushing back, I can’t recall a worse Belgian beer.
