Collaboration brew - Farmhouse IPA with funky flavours. This brew is the result of a unique collaboration between Lervig Aktiebryggeri (Norway) and Magic Rock (UK). Here we have combined our love of hops and funky flavours to make this farmhouse style IPA. Belgian yeasts and brettanomyces will make this beer more and more spicy over time. Enjoy today and tomorrow!

Draft @ Oliver Twist, 30/3-14.
Cloudy yellow with a short white head. Hoppy and citric aroma with some wheat and brett. Taste is citric, dry and bitter with straw and a spicy and slight acidic bretty character. Medium bodied, slight spritzy carbonation, dry. Pretty tasty but also a bit forgettable. Saison? IPA? Hops? Brett? Ah, just throw it in there.

Bottle from Y Delyn Wine Bar, Mold. Pours a hazy straw/amber colour with a foamy white head. Aroma is fruity and hoppy, almost tropical. Taste is juicy and zesty tropical hops, nice amount of yeasty character, with a spicy backbone and a medium dry finish. Carbonation was smooth and silky, nothing too overpowering. Very good beer, would recommend!

Bottle from Market Row Wines, Brixton. Big gusher out of the bottle but gladly it’s still well carbonated. Colour is a nice bright rusty orange, little hazy, big white head which dissipates to thin. Nose is big citrus zest IPA, with grapefruit, lemon, tangerine, apricot, sherberty, lots of orange, bitter citrus and slight pine, bit musty and caramel. There’s also a touch of slight funk or farmyard. Little bit rustic. Taste is bitter hop citrus, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, pine, caramel. Citrus forward bitter hop IPA with minerals and a punchy, crisp and fruity palate.

33cl, bb:lost cap. Funkily favoured by idiosynkrasie, ta/kk. Absolutely inviting, expressive zesty nose of kiwi, qumquat, physalis, buckthorn lusciously dampened by saison yeastiness, apricot and tangerine peel whipped cream cheese and vanilla. Taste introduces that semi-clean engineered, mid-Atlantic funkiness, connecting all those shiny, fruity hop alpha acids on a string made of pollenised heath flowers. Easy, summery, sessoniable urbanised saison IPA of the kind that makes a strong case for the cross-pollenation of both styles coming from the side of IPA. (cf.: Lion ŕ Plume Métisse, De Glazen Toren, Jandrain-J IV for coming from the other side).

Light funk/ bret aromas, which balance out with the hops in the flavour. Very easy drinking .
