3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft @ Oliver Twist, 30/3-14.
Cloudy yellow with a short white head. Hoppy and citric aroma with some wheat and brett.
Taste is citric, dry and bitter with straw and a spicy and slight acidic bretty character.
Medium bodied, slight spritzy carbonation, dry. Pretty tasty but also a bit forgettable. Saison? IPA? Hops? Brett? Ah, just throw it in there.

Bottle. This label looks like the graph paper that my maths teacher wanted me to draw parabolas on. OK, I love Orval so naturally I’m excited about anything hoppy with brett. Pours a cloudy pale orange body, small head. Did not pour in the yeast. Average hoppy aroma with citric hops and only hints of brett. Taste has medium levels of citric hops with also green rhubarb. Still no notable levels of brett. Drinkable but not complex in my opinion. Kind of meh. Maybe it should be aged? Maybe it should be aged and brett development graph should be drawn on the label of the last remaining bottle?

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle. Cloudy dull brown color. Small size, white head, kind of stays. Classic IPA aroma. Spicy hops, yeast, fruity notes in taste. Nice hoppy aftertaste. Just maybe carbonation is tad too high, but it’s not disturbing.
