UPDATED: FEB 7, 2013 (Bottle) Pours dark brown (almost black) with a creamy, nougat coloured head. The aroma holds wood/bourbon up front with notes of warming alcohol, toffee, vanilla, melted butter, some coconut and hints of dill. Deep malty undertones of roasted dark bread, cookies, caramel, soft cocoa and milk chocolate. Some brown sugar notes. Just a whisper of leafy hops and prune-ish dark fruits. Round, fancy and mega yummy nose. The flavour is medium sweet and near medium bitter with a touch of acidic notes from roast and hops. Balanced (but aggressive) oak, deep malt, balanced hops. Complex, yet dangerously easy to drink. The mouthfeel is round and velvety alongside a light stickiness. Soft carbonation. Malt and bourbon balance is perfect on the finish. Near full bodied.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown, almost Black, with a small, fizzy, tan head. Aroma has huge bourbon, caramel, milk chocolate, slight roast, vanilla, fudge. Very sweet. Taste is sweet, surprisingly roasty, lots of oak and bourbon, boozy heat in the finish. Low carb and sticky body. Yummy! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aroma of cocoa, nuts, caramel & chocolate. Black with no head. Taste of dark chocolate & cocoa, with a spicy finish. Medium body, smooth texture & low carbonation. For sure the best beer I’ve tasted in 2015.

111.2 oz. bottle from the Party Source. Pours a murky dark caramel brown color with a small beige head that disappeared quickly. The aroma is all malt and bourbon, caramel, toffee, vanilla. The flavor has big, sweet caramel, toffee, brown sugar, dark fruits, bourbon, vanilla, some vinous character, alcohol peaks in, but is mostly warming, this one is a treat, late, as it warmed, I got some anise and more wood, but I could have been happy with half the bottle.
