On tap at Churchkey. Rich licorice nose, malty sweet with chocolate and molasses. Dark black opaque with thin light tan head. Medium-heavy body with mild carbonation. Starts and stays sweet with tons of molasses and licorice. Sweet espresso, notes of bitter chocolate. Finish is sweet and rich with sweet lingering after. Very nice stout if you like licorice.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2014 Bottle. Black as a moonless night. A big, smoky aroma. It is thick, full bodied, heavy malty flavors, dark chocolate, a very decent stout indeed.

Bottle from systembolaget.
Aroma Dark chocolate aroma with hints of smoke. A bite of that sourness that otherwise is typical for porters are there as well.
Appearance Nice dark color with brown foam. Had it been just a bit darker the appearance would be perfect
Taste Lots of fudge and chocolate with some coffee. A bit to sweet for my taste with almost no bitterness.
Palate Medium to light body which is to light for this type. The finish is ok with coffe playing the main part.
Overall A bit to sweet and light in the body. It is ok but I expected more from this beer,

Black beer with nice big medium brown head. Aroma: nice amounts of fresh coffee and dark chocolate, some nice dark bready notes. Taste: big bitterness at the end. Quite a bit of bitter coffee and some sweet fruity notes. Liqourice in there. Mouthfeel is smooth and soft. Nice stout!

Had it last year but remember it as slightly better. Chocolately but not as nice as a lot of great RISs I’ve had lately.

Overall, balanced and very enjoyable. Tons of dark fruit layers, mainly dried plum and raisin, intermingled with bakers chocolate and black licorice, with hints of coffee/mocha and vanilla bean. Medium-plus bodied, with a creamy mouthfeel. Mild, balanced bitterness and subtle sweetness. Pleasant finish, without being cloying or overpowering. Lingering dark fruit and chocolate nuances... possibly chocolate covered raisins? Alcohol is well integrated. A solid stout. Given this is it's first appearance in the states, its definitely worth a try. --- tasted while on a long journey to understand the world around me...
