En svært mørk russisk imperial stout, brygget med pilsnermalt, sjokolademalt, karamellmalt, røstet bygg og havre. Humlen er Northern Brewer og Chinook. Alegjær gjør dette brygget veldig tungt og fyldig.

Konrad’s Stout is a new beer in the Brewer’s Reserve range, from Lervig’s head brewer Mike Murphy. A Russian Imperial Stout brewed with oatmeal.

Black is black, no head, just raft of espresso foam and lacing. Sweet dark chocolate coffee, nice warm aroma has also licorice, lots of chocolate, lots. Really sweet, thick and sticky, roasted, full body, low carbobation, warming alcohol, raisins. If you like your sacher and coffee simultaneously ... this is your beer.

2012-11-16. Black body, nice brown head. Interesting aroma, dark malt, a sort of not quite tangy quality to it, light dry roast. 7++ Flavour is similar, dark malt core, dry roast, modest bitterness, lingering cocoa and muted fruit. 7+ Smooth average plus palate. 3+ Pretty solid, a very lean and light take on an Imperial Stout, but pretty enjoyable. Aroma: mild roast , some alcohol with softer walls. Touch of chocolate , mellow clean alcohol. 7+
Look: brown-black with tanned rocky top. 3+
Taste/palate: Medium bodied. Clean cut roast feel , tad dry . quiet drinkable. Slight mineral secondary hints. Quiet nice.

Courtesy of fiulijn. Pitch black pour with a thick tan head. The nose is soft and a little bit chocolatey. Very clean sort of malt character. A bit of raisin and roast malt but it also has a lean sort of palate. A touch of bitterness on the back. Decent stuff but pretty unusual. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from ClubGonzo, thanks! Almost black and opague. Malt, dried fruit and roast in the aroma. Full bodied. malty sweet nutty flavor with dried fruit and distant roast. Hazelnuts and caramel. Nice!

In short: A problematic sweet stout with metallic flavor. Something went wrong here
How: Bottle 330ml, consumed fresh the day of purchase from a Vinmonopolet in Norway
The look: Black body topped by a medium tan head
In long: Nose is burnt malts, some ferrous notes (rusty old metal) and light notes of chocolate. Taste is very sweet, there is a bit of the sweet velvety character I expect from an oatmeal stouts but it is overwhelmed by sugary crunchiness, notes of coffee, alcohol warmth, annoying ferrous/scrap metal sensation. Not sure what to make of this, bought the bottle in Norway and consumed on the same day so it is probably not bad cellaring, I hope this is a bad bottle because the metallic character in this one was out of control. Too bad. My many bad ratings may make me look like someone who complains all the time, but really when I am not complaining about something I am really not someone who complains a lot.

330ml bottle. Deep deep brown color, almost black. Nice tan head. Licorice, roast, coffee in aroma. Bittery, malty, coffee, sweetish flavor. Very enjoyable beer.
