En svært mørk russisk imperial stout, brygget med pilsnermalt, sjokolademalt, karamellmalt, røstet bygg og havre. Humlen er Northern Brewer og Chinook. Alegjær gjør dette brygget veldig tungt og fyldig.

Konrad’s Stout is a new beer in the Brewer’s Reserve range, from Lervig’s head brewer Mike Murphy. A Russian Imperial Stout brewed with oatmeal.

Bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma has chocolate, leather and ash. Taste is bitter chocolate with a dry chocolate ashy bitter finish. A bit too harsh bitterness for me.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet, pours near-black with a lacing coffee crema and aromas of treacle, liquorice, cocoa and seaside. Initially smooth and treacly, then bursts with roasted malt, tangy burnt dried fruit, touches of chocolate and saltiness, lingering dry salty bitterness with hints of bitter dark chocolate. Lovely.

Den beste Stout jeg noen gang har smakt. Aldeles nydelig med smak av sjokolade og lakris. Nydelig skum og perfekt balansert. Anbefales på det sterkeste.

Bottle at the Croydonia Tasting, 13/07/13, big thanks to Leighton for this one. Mid black with a dirty tan head that reduces to a swirl and edgeing. Nose is roasted malt, liqourice, dark fruits, burnt rubber, dark toffee. Taste comprises brown sugars, dark toffee, woody notes, cocoa poweder, light smoked pork, dark fruits, touch of booze. Full bodied, fine carbonation, boozey finish - a little hot. Ok impy but lacks depth and sophistication.

Bottle at the Croydonia Tasting - East Croydon. I got this bottle at GBBF last year! Pours black with a creamy beige head. Burnt toast on the nose, some dark malts, burnt marshmallow, light roast. Medium sweet flavor with lots of dark malts, char, dark chocolate. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Dry chocolate finish, roasty, with more char, earthy bitterness. Solid stuff.

Bottle at the Croydonia Tasting. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, vanilla, toasted coconut and nougat. The taste is roasted malt, toast, earth, ash, light acidity, ash, coffee and bitter cocoa, a dry, roasty finish. Medium-full body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Pretty tasty stuff. Nice Imperial Stout.

Flaska från SB, drygt ett år gammal. En kolsvart dryck med lågt skum. Söt, syrlig och fruktig doft. Söt och tjock i munnen. Ganska syrlig, mycket fruktig, torkad mörk frukt, syrlig fruktig espresso, rejäl efterbeska. Riktigt god.

Appearance: Black/brown with thin brown/tan head. Aroma: Fruit cake, yogurty, malty, roasty, caramel, liquourice, biscuity. Taste: Medium sweetness, medium/high bitterness, low sourness. Palate: Light/medium body, smooth texture with quite a full mouthfeel, average/high carbonation with lingering tingling finish on tongue, astringent with lasting bitterness which seems to get stronger, slight alcohol warmth in aftertaste. Comments: Very tasty and left a glass lace.
