En svært mørk russisk imperial stout, brygget med pilsnermalt, sjokolademalt, karamellmalt, røstet bygg og havre. Humlen er Northern Brewer og Chinook. Alegjær gjør dette brygget veldig tungt og fyldig.

Konrad’s Stout is a new beer in the Brewer’s Reserve range, from Lervig’s head brewer Mike Murphy. A Russian Imperial Stout brewed with oatmeal.

(Lervig Brewer’s Reserve Konrad’s Stout) Bottle 330 ml, from a trade with andersreve if I remember correctly. Served into a snifter, ABV 10,4% Totally black colour on the body, two fingers of thick, brown head sitting on top, with very good retention, leaving medium lacing on the glass. Fantastic aroma with lots of vanilla. Oats, chocolate cake, just a hint of alcohol after a deep sniff, even some whiskey notes. Great taste too, again lots of vanilla, chocolate, chocolate cake, well hidden alcohol, roasted malts towards the finish and some coal/ash just right there. Thick body, soft carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and very smooth on the palate. Fantastic!

Tap@Pingvinen, Bergen, 28/10/14. 35cl. Nordic pints really are bonsai. Utterly obsidian with a thick lacing chocolate coloured collar. Aroma of scorched grain, black bread dunked in Bovril, liquorice, carob and prune. Deep sticky and dark with Marmite and liquorice aplenty; roasted fennel seed, marzipan and Black Forest notes. Marmite on burnt rye afters. A meditative, chin- stroking oozing beast of a beer.

0,33 l bottle. Black and viscous beer with good dark brown head. Rich and refined aroma: coffee, flowers, aged brandy, caramel, cake with candied fruit. Mighty and velvety taste of black coffee, dark chocolate, prunes, brandy and port. Slightly resinous bitterness of hops in finish. Very good!

Bottle from Cunningham, huge thanxxx for that one!
Pours deep black with brown flat head. Smell has coffee, sweet chocolate and lots of roasted malts. Starts with strong roasted malts, slight sweet, chocolatey with strong coffee notes. Goes into a strong coffee-like finish with lots of roasted malts and chocolate.
