Matrix black color. Minimal cocoa brown foam. Definitely chocolate aroma with hints of cola? Taste is pretty mild and smooth. Coffee and som fruit. A little bit oily with little bubbles. Shared with two others. So had a nice.

330 ml bottle. Served in a DFH snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. The brew smells like roasted malt, bittersweet and milk chocolate, dark fruit and molasses. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some coffee and oats noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s creamy and slick with low/moderate carbonation. The 10.4% ABV is well hidden. I think it’s a good overall stout, I wouldn’t mind trying this one again in the future. $5.25 a bottle.

Espuma beige, deeeeensa. Aroma muy intenso y complejo: cacao, alcohol, un poco de café y un toque ácido perfectamente integrado. En el sabor todo eso y más con un cuerpo impresionante, con un sorbo tienes para un ratito de placer.

Draft at Torst. Pours near black with a thin beige head. Big dark fruity notes, hard roasted malts, molasses, hints of ash, and some earthy bitterness. Just a big too sweet, but still enjoyable.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours very dark brown/black with a dark tan head. Aroma is dark malt with some "fresh" hop. Touch of anise. Near full bodied. Flavor is dark malt, anise, chocolate. Dryish. Hop provides mild bitterness; fruity/earthy hop seems present. Gets a bit astringent in the finish. Very smooth.

Black. Dark chocolate and some earthy sweet notes on the nose. Taste is complex with coffee, chocolate, toffee with some dried fruit and licorice. Very rich and oily. Aftertaste is longlasting but finishes a bit on the sweet side. Good beer.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2014 Pours black with a finger of dark beige head. Slightly anonymous on the aroma at first but developing into a dense bouquet with morels, fresh barley and coffee. Deep on the palate, slightly too much residual sweetness for me but very good overall impression still. Good bitterness, balanced roasted maliness and chewable texture.

Aroma is dark malts, chocolate, mild cherries and a small hint of spice. The flavor is dark malts, dark fruit/cherries, oatmeal smoothness, chocolate and a long and acidic finish.
