COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
En svært mørk russisk imperial stout, brygget med pilsnermalt, sjokolademalt, karamellmalt, røstet bygg og havre. Humlen er Northern Brewer og Chinook. Alegjær gjør dette brygget veldig tungt og fyldig.

Konrad’s Stout is a new beer in the Brewer’s Reserve range, from Lervig’s head brewer Mike Murphy. A Russian Imperial Stout brewed with oatmeal.

An amazingly delish balance between mocha, roast, earth and coffee. Some kirsh cherry too. Depth, finesse and some chewiness on the palate and the alcohol is hidden so very well. Very good. Very.

Aroma of licorice, roasted malts and hints of chocolate. Taste is licorice, roasty, some nuts, some coffee. Alcohol is present as well, but not much at all for a 10,4 beer. Full body and medium to full bitterness. Really nice!

33cl bottle. Pours a pitch black with a tall, fine, espresso head with good retention (for an imperial stout, that is). Smells of espresso, dark chocolate, roasted grains, dark cherries. The taste is very well balanced, with notes of espresso, dark chocolate, dark cherries, smoked and roasted malts. Very smooth and silky mouthfeel with a medium to full body, possibly due to the oats. Excellent.

On tap at Jopen Proeflokaal, Haarlem. Body is black, head is small, brownish, creamy, mostly lasting, good lacing. Nose is licorice, light smoke, flavor is chocolate, mild coffee, coffee liqueur, herbs, dried fruits. Medium to heavy sweet, medium to heavy bitter, light fruity sour. Finish is long lasting roasty fruity medium bittersweet, light alcohol warmth. Full body, sticky texture, soft carbonation. Quite heavy, a bit too sweet, nice one.

UPDATED: MAR 10, 2016 Pours a good tanned and consistent head. Great aroma, which is roasted malts, coffee and alcohol. Excellent full body, thick texture, low carbonation and long finish. Overall, a fine Imperial Stout.

Bottle from Appellation Wines Comely Bank. Appearance - deep black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - dark chocolate prunes and general booziness. Taste - dark chocolate molasses dry liquorice , boozy dried fruit. Jamaica Rum Cake. Palate - rich and full bodied with a rich and creamy texture and a dry malt finish. Complex. Overall - a lovely indulgent ale.

10.4%ABV. Oatmeal Imperial Stout. Tapped out 40ºSRM. Nose is medicinal and has the aroma of lo Han go, Otherwise liquer blac cherries or brandies cherries come to mind, also rum raisins. More mundane deScriptors might include licorice, dark chocolate. For those in the know, this might have the nose of Pei pa ko, which is a medicinal syrup made from pipa which is a Chinese loquat. The slightly umami nose makes the impression of a freshly grilled unagi almost palpable: sweet, smoke, umami. The umami is most likely a function of the oatmeal which while not wheat is close enough... Mouthfeel is syrupy. This reminds me most of when I tasted the Abstakt 12. The palate can best be characterized as: coffee, hickory smoked bacon, charcoal briquets, honeyed dates, prunes, fresh ripe honey dates, burnt wheat toast. The slight umami makes squid ink pasta aaaalmost make sense. There is a certain heftiness to the palate which can only be attributed to the oatmeal-weighted grain bill. The finish is sweet and smoke. The most enduring flavor in the finish is closest to having a fresh honey date or a very ripe plum. There is that sweet but leavened by a ripe fruit fullness with all its ester-y funk and honey sweetness on the palate. Goes on Favorites List!

Smell of red berries, tar. Black, tiny brown head. Aroma of tar, red berries, oak, oat. Bitter, finishes with sweetness. Heavy body, flat carbon.

(on tap) Aroma:notes of sweet chocolate,dark fruits(cherries,plums),coffee. Appearance black, medium-size beige head,nice lacing. Taste:sweet,lovely sweet chocolate flavour,tones of coffee,coffee and coconut finish,perfect bitter chocolate aftertaste. Palate:thick,full body,soft to medium carbonation. Overall:I dream to try barrel-aged version of it.
