Konrad’s Stout is a new beer in the Brewer’s Reserve range, from Lervig’s head brewer Mike Murphy. A Russian Imperial Stout brewed with oatmeal.

Really dark, almost black pour with mocha head. Aroma is really roasty and dark fruit forward. Taste starts slightly sweet and fruity with dark berries and dark chocolate notes and gets roasty and bitter in the finish. Body is heavy and smooth with just the right amount of carbonation. You get some alcohol but not really offensive. Overall it’s pretty well made imperial stout but nothing really special.

Bottle. Pours black with a brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bitter dark grains with a touch of roasted malts and a touch of coffee. Flavor has lots of dark grains with a bitterness, some roasted malts and a hint of dark chocolate.

33cl 15/06/19 Weird aroma of port wine, burnt wood, ash, chilli and a fancy barrel. Pours pitch black with soft creamy head that stays for duration of severl minutes. Heavy malts, heavy hopps, ash and dry charcoal hit you with a roundhouse kick in the face. Super smooth, creamy yet tangy, Bites your tongue a bit. slick and overall amazing feel to this IS. I never expected it it be so complex. My wife got it to me as a random shelf beer from supermarket - this justs adds to a surprise factor. Superb brew! totally worth a try, and it will age well!
