En svært mørk russisk imperial stout, brygget med pilsnermalt, sjokolademalt, karamellmalt, røstet bygg og havre. Humlen er Northern Brewer og Chinook. Alegjær gjør dette brygget veldig tungt og fyldig.

Konrad’s Stout is a new beer in the Brewer’s Reserve range, from Lervig’s head brewer Mike Murphy. A Russian Imperial Stout brewed with oatmeal.

Cacao et café. Un peu d’anis et traces de bois. L’alcool ne paraît pas. Le houblon présent au nez sort en finale pour créer l’amertume.

Bottle 330 ml, pours black with brown head that reduces fast, but a nic lacing remains. Aroma of coffee, chocolate with black andcred fruits and a touch of balsamico. Some wine notes are also noticable. Taste has a nice sweet beginning with some delicate sourness and a bitter ending. Very pleasant RIS.

Keg at the brewery during the Lervig Tap takeover. 25/04/2015. Aroma is malty, nutty, praline, little smoke, earthy wood. Dark mahogany / brown coloured pour with a thin mid tan head. Flavour is composed of dark roast, toast, dark roasted grains, salty mineral. Nice smooth layered roast. Palate is full bodied, highish carbonation. Biting earthy roast in the finish.

(Bottle) Black colour with brief, frothy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, black rye bread, liquorice, some soy sauce and a touch of dried fruit. Malty, roasted taste with dark chocolate, strong black coffee, black rye bread, soy sauce, dried fruit (raisins), a hint of smoke and a generous cacao bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Rounded mouthfeel. Tasty and quite powerful, still in very good balance. Very nice.

Bottle from Biernavigatie, BB 03.02.19, large sample. Dark color, short brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, licorice, bit mocha, choc, oatmeal cookie. Lots of spicy licorice in taste, bit sweet. Quite creamy in texture. Liquid licorice candy. Slightly alcoholic in the finish. I prefer more chocolatey versions, but for a licorice candy one, I think it’s pretty good. Very enjoyable.

Black, weak brown head. Roasty cocoa. Full-bodied, balanced bittersweet with notes of oats, cocoa and vanilla. Delicious. Finishes bittersweet and a bit warming, though this is the only moment when the ABV can be felt.

A really nice stout. Pours inky black. Aromas of sweet dark fruit, chocolate chip cookies, a touch of soy, and some red wine. Flavours are oreos and milk, dark bitter chocolate, some sour cherry too. Great stuff.

Tap. Friends of Ham, Leeds. Just about black. Film of tan head. Nose is liquorice. Chocolate. Charred wood. Light, savoury smoke. Some caramel. Taste is soft sweet. Quite dry Dark roast coffee bitter. Smooth, silky mouthfeel. Finishes long, charred bitter. Get a bit of a praline thing last off. Easy drinking, given the ABV.
