Aroma is rather strong on coffee – I can smell it from 50 cm when pouring. Also some dark chocolate, cocoa, oat and vegetables. Flavour has coffee, dark chocolate, soy sauce, toffee and salty licorice. Some characteristics from export stouts. Too salty.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 mjs (3609) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JAN 6, 2013
(Bottle, 0.33 l, at Pikkulintu, 20130106) The beer poured black. Its head was small and brown. Aroma had roasted malts, chocolate and liquorice. Palate was medium bodied and dry bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, liquorice, coffee, chocolate, sweetness, hops and bitternes. Aftertaste was roasty, hoppy and bitter. A good balanced imperial stout. I couldn’t find the usual sourness produced by oatmeal but it quite likely had softened the palate.

Black is black, no head, just raft of espresso foam and lacing. Sweet dark chocolate coffee, nice warm aroma has also licorice, lots of chocolate, lots. Really sweet, thick and sticky, roasted, full body, low carbobation, warming alcohol, raisins. If you like your sacher and coffee simultaneously ... this is your beer.
