COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
En svært mørk russisk imperial stout, brygget med pilsnermalt, sjokolademalt, karamellmalt, røstet bygg og havre. Humlen er Northern Brewer og Chinook. Alegjær gjør dette brygget veldig tungt og fyldig.

Konrad’s Stout is a new beer in the Brewer’s Reserve range, from Lervig’s head brewer Mike Murphy. A Russian Imperial Stout brewed with oatmeal.

UPDATED: JUN 23, 2014 Pours black with a finger of dark beige head. Slightly anonymous on the aroma at first but developing into a dense bouquet with morels, fresh barley and coffee. Deep on the palate, slightly too much residual sweetness for me but very good overall impression still. Good bitterness, balanced roasted maliness and chewable texture.

Aroma is dark malts, chocolate, mild cherries and a small hint of spice. The flavor is dark malts, dark fruit/cherries, oatmeal smoothness, chocolate and a long and acidic finish.

Draft at Torst wih Kimberly and Taylor. Pours black with zero head. Aroma is roasted malt, dark berries, hint of musky notes. Taste is musky roasty malt, very dark roast, muted burnt berries, harsh flavors working together in an oddly smooth way.

Bottle: Poured a deep black color stout with a nice large foamy had dark brown head with excellent retention and some very good lacing. Aroma of sweet black chocolates notes with light roasted malt profile is quite enjoyable. Taste is a dominated by black chocolate with quite a bit of residual sugar notes and some roasted malt with a light dusty finish. Body is about average for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Enjoyable and well brewed but maybe a tad too sweet for my taste buds.

Small dark tan head. Dark black opaque body. Flavors of raisin and molasses. Not overly heavy body. Nice Russian Imperial Stout! Wish it wasn’t soooooo expensive.

At torst. Oily black with no head. Fruity, vinuous almost medicinal. Taste retains some medicinal fruit.

Pours pitch black, with a small and fairly dense, though small, dark tan head that leaves a fair bit of lacing. There are a lot of aromas in this one, and they’re intense, yet exquisitely balanced. The most prominent aromas are liquorice, Spanish roast coffee, black malt, smoky tar, bitter chocolate, dried fruits, and a spicy pine-like hint of hops. The taste is quite sweet, with a slightly wine-like finish, not quite dry, but tannic bitter. The body is heavy, with a moderate carbonation. This stout is very complex, and has a high ABV (though it isn’t obvious when you taste it), and could easily overwhelm those who aren’t used to dark ales. It was however a great experience for my stout-loving self, and a great introduction to Lervig.

Svart farge med tynt brunt skum. Lukter kaffe, stenfrukt og alkohol. Fyldig. kaffe og sødme i smak. Føler også alkoholdunst i ettersmaken.
