Konrad’s Stout is a new beer in the Brewer’s Reserve range, from Lervig’s head brewer Mike Murphy. A Russian Imperial Stout brewed with oatmeal.

0,33 l, flaske, 10,4 % ABV, BB: 03/02/19, købt i Boxbeers, 1. juli 2015.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Dark brown body with a medium tan head. Light lacing marks. Aroma of wood, dark chocolate and Coco Pops. Flavour of digestives, cocoa and fig. Medium to thick body with a powdery texture. Soft fizz. This is a touch too sweet for my liking. It reminds me of Courage Russian Imperial Stout.

330ml bottle from the beer hive. Pours oily black with a thin tan head. Aromas of tobacco, Cola, faint roast. Taste is liquorice, tar, faint roast again, almost meaty, leather. Rich texture, full bodied. Light sweet, light boozy finish.

Pitch black, very thick, amazing looks. Rhum, raisin, coffee, woody. Not overpowering, quite balanced. Very strong taste though, perhaps even because of that more dimmed aroma. Very warming, hot even. Lovely, I like it like that. Great rich mouthfeel. The alcohol is so nice here. Not hidden at all, but warming (certainly not burning), round, fulfilling. Amazing, super tasteful. Love it. (33cl bottle from Saveur Bière)

Hmm.. very standard light sided IMP. Decent maltiness, moderate roast, some coffee, light licorice, bit soy, quite decent citrusy hops, but bit unbalanced. Moderate sweetness, some bitterness. Interesting brew, but nothing extraordinary.

Nutty, soy and leather aroma. Straight black with tan-brown lacing. Taste is cocoa, coffee and more soy. Seems kind of acidic. Thick body, kind of dry, oily texture. More heavy fuel from Norway.

Bottle shared at a tasting at Max’ place. Black with a beige ring. Plum, cherry liquor, some roast aroma. Dry, roasty and bitter taste that’s also a little woodsy and then syrupy. Full body, smooth, no carbonation, nutty and fruity finish.
