Bottle at home. Three years old. Has a black colour with a medium, light brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate, soy sauce and licorice. More salt licorice in the flavour along with ash and roasted malt. Slick mouth feel, and has a medium bitterness. A well roasted IS with a solid bitterness after three years of aging.

Black with creamy tan head. Roasted aroma, licorice and smoke. Flavour is thick, raw licorice, some sweetness and hints of smoke. Well balanced bitterness and well controlled alcohol. Full, creamy mouthfeel. Bitter, slightly sticky finish. Very nice.

Bottle @ Drafthouse Charlotte Street. Delicious. The kind of beer that would only be improved if it included an open fire and a cosy armchair as standard.

12 oz bottle courtesy of Gunnar. Aroma is moderately roast forward with a medium chocolate character. Some raisin, prune and plum notes. Light alcohol notes. Pours almost black with a moderately thick, mocha head that steadily recedes to the edges. Medium lacing and small legs. Flavor is moderately roasty as well with some medium dark milk chocolate notes. Some light caramel character with some moderate raisin, prune and plum notes. Moderate bitterness with medium light spice notes. Some lingering roast and alcohol with a hint of grassy hop notes. Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium carbonation. Low, but slightly noticeable astringency and medium low to low alcohol warmth. Overall, a nice roasty stout with some nice background chocolate character. Quite a bit of dried fruit notes and a touch of alcohol spice.

The aroma is of roasted malt with strong hints of prune, fine coffee and brown sugar. This beer is black in colour with a firm beige head. Extremely smooth and mouth-filling with an almost bread-like, chewy quality. There are hints of prune and blackcurrant in the flavour. Nicely dry, but with little bitterness and a pleasant coffee-dominated finish. A great Russian Imperial Stout.

Bottle looks really good. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Intense malty aroma. Starts very strong, intense malty, light alcoholic, notes of strong coffee. Wheaty background. Finish dry-malty, warming. A beer to enjoy!
