4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Black color with brownish head. Not all pronounced aroma, the dark features are lurking behind. Darker fruits and licorice dominates. Flavour and mouthfeel is all I want in an Imperial Stout - rich yet not too heavy. Salty licorice, dark fruits, bit burnt and sourish. Bit of oatmeal in there too. Mouthfeel is big of course with a pretty solid residual sweetness that’s not too disturbing. Bitterness is herbal and on a medium level.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle@UkkoMetso, Tampere, Finland. Strong aroma with toffee, licorice and some vanilla. Pitch black color with medium beige head. Strong/medium taste with licorice, toffee and some vanilla notes dominate sweet lightly roasted malts. The taste is so smooth that it almost hinders the balance. Medium taste spectrum and medium sweet and malty aftertaste. Full body with light carbonation. Overall high quality, tasteful IS with a bit too many sweet notes that hide the malts.

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
(Lervig Brewer’s Reserve Konrad’s Stout) Bottle 330 ml, from a trade with andersreve if I remember correctly. Served into a snifter, ABV 10,4%
Totally black colour on the body, two fingers of thick, brown head sitting on top, with very good retention, leaving medium lacing on the glass.
Fantastic aroma with lots of vanilla. Oats, chocolate cake, just a hint of alcohol after a deep sniff, even some whiskey notes.
Great taste too, again lots of vanilla, chocolate, chocolate cake, well hidden alcohol, roasted malts towards the finish and some coal/ash just right there.
Thick body, soft carbonation, creamy mouthfeel and very smooth on the palate.
