COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
En svært mørk russisk imperial stout, brygget med pilsnermalt, sjokolademalt, karamellmalt, røstet bygg og havre. Humlen er Northern Brewer og Chinook. Alegjær gjør dette brygget veldig tungt og fyldig.

Konrad’s Stout is a new beer in the Brewer’s Reserve range, from Lervig’s head brewer Mike Murphy. A Russian Imperial Stout brewed with oatmeal.

Bottled. Black color with brownish head. Not all pronounced aroma, the dark features are lurking behind. Darker fruits and licorice dominates. Flavour and mouthfeel is all I want in an Imperial Stout - rich yet not too heavy. Salty licorice, dark fruits, bit burnt and sourish. Bit of oatmeal in there too. Mouthfeel is big of course with a pretty solid residual sweetness that’s not too disturbing. Bitterness is herbal and on a medium level.

Very coffee’y and roasted with some sharp alcohol notes, almost as if it had been barrel aged. Heavy but nice - not for the fainthearted

From bottle it’s deep brown with a thin head. Aroma is roast and chocolate-dominant with red plum and grape-like esters, sharp alcohol, faint dirtiness manifesting as wet dog hair, fabric, and fiery fusels, and with more time some dough-nut-mud effects show up. In the mouth it’s medium-full bodied, semi-sweet, rich, sticky-syrupy. It’s thankfully not overly-sweet, but it is basic and boozy and kind of clunky, the finish is especially unpleasant with its empty bitterness and remnant mud-autolyzed yeast flavors.

Black colour, almost no head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, dark fruits, chocolate, spices, hops. Sweet sour taste with medium bitter finish and hoppy aftertaste. Full body and average carbonation. Nice and complex stout.

A typical Imperial stout. Pours black with a thin brown/beige head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel, coffee. Thick in the palate where the caramel and roasted malts dominate a medium bitter ale. Hints of coffee, licorice and vanilla. Booze well hidden. Strong roasted-bitter after taste. Good.

Beer black color and similar to motor oil, oil aspect completely. The nose reveals itself as very intense, with abundant roasted nuances, reminiscent of coffee candies, licorice against a background of looming accompanied by a alicorado point. In the mouth, it is soft and dense pair bodied and a slight carbonation. The taste is dominated by roasted malt, coffee and end licorice, very evident, that helps prolong the sensation in the aftertaste of bitter character, and with a combined point between sweetness and liquor leaves a slight burning background throat.

Fett. Kleine Flasche von BEYOND BEER HH. CA. 4€.

Wow. That is rich. Heavy on coffee and bizarrely, pepsi, with a hint of vanilla and caramel after you’ve thought about it a minute. At 10.4% you’d expect more of a whiff of booze and certainly more of a taste of the strength but it’s well brewed enough that whilst it’s there it’s not over powering. Just enough fizz for a thin head round the edges from a 330ml bottle. I’m enjoying this.
