3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very strong plum aroma, so powerful that it hides everything else under it. Colour is mahogany brown with rather thin head. Flavor has plums, raisins and some herbs. Not sure what herbs, because they’re so delicate under the plum & raisin combo. Powerful raisin, damn why I can’t figure out what this herb flavor is?! I’m not sure if it is anis what I taste but I think it is. I should have drunk this at Christmas to enjoy it completely. Now in the middle of February it doesn’t feel right. Plums and raisins are good but one had it’s limits. Somewhat disappointed.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle traded with Cunningham. Very interesting brew. It combines a dark, caramelly maltiness, raisins and prunes, ginger and anise, and a tart, yeasty spiciness. Especially the anise stands out. Moderately full, soft malty body, light to medium bitterness. Light tart, spicy taste with an anise-laden finish. Good thing I like anise. Very nice one!

3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Draught at Pikkulintu, 20121226) The beer poured dark brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had aniseed, malts and Belgian style yeast. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were aniseed, Belgian style yeast, sweetness, clove, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was spicy, malty and bitter. The taste finished too quickly and turned very watery and thin towards the end. Aroma was pleasant.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Shared bottle at Christmas beer tasting 15.12.12
Dark reddish color,
aroma is distinctly licorice and camphor.
Taste is very complex, the alcohol is evident, hints of dryed fruit and a pernod or absinth like taste.
Would be nice with rice pudding.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
33 cl bottle. I expected a much better beer from Lervig than this. No bite! Watery for a strong christmas beer. Will give this another try - maybe something wrong with this batch.
