Bottle at home. Pours amber with some a little head. Hints of fruits and toasted malts on the nose. Loads of dried/candied fruits and sweet malts with a lingering aftertaste. Some notes og belgian beer in there. An interesting take on a Norwegian Christmas beer.

Nice aroma on this amber christmas beer. At first I noticed at bitterness that ruined the first impression. After a while in room temperature the caramel/candis and spices became the main aroma. A pleasant aftertaste finished it of. Not an average christmas beer, but I recommend it.

Dyp nøttebrun med fin, farvet skum. Aroma av malt, kaffe, fløtekaramell, plomme og rosin. Flott frukt i munnen, lett sødme og fin friskhet med ingefær. Lett bitter, fin fylde og lengde. (Havnabakken, 20.12.13)

Glowind ruby red. Raiisins, prunes, lots of malt. Vinous, with a little sour edge. Discreet use of Christmassy spices, cinnamon in the finish. Pleasant sipping.

UPDATED: NOV 20, 2012 33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet, Storo. Pours dark brown with a small off-white to beige head. Spicy aroma, especially anise is noticeable also other christmassy spices, some notes of ginger too. Sweet and caramel malty with a pleasant bitterness in the finish. This is quite different from what I remember from last year, but it’s a quite refreshing a very drinkable Christmas beer. Anise is a bit to domination in my opinion, but the beer is surprisingly refreshing for a Christmas beer.
