COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Editor’s note: First served on tap at 7.7% ABV.

Bottle. Golden with a medium head. Hops and bitterness merge together creating a pleasant easy to drink flavour not as overwhelming as I expected. If anything its a bit too bitter for my palate but still enjoyed trying it.

Quite cloudy orange/brown appearance with some foamy head. Extremely hoppy, and tastes of pumpkin, alcohol, grass and earth. Full-bodied, highly carbonated and with a long hoppy aftertaste.

Bottle BBE: 2.2.16. Well-chilled. Pours a cloudy pale amber with a generous, pillowy, off-white head. Classic high intensity grapefruit, orange squash and oats with some cat litter. Noticed the strong ginger when tasted, lending a moderate biscuity sweetness. The high-medium bitterness doesn’t pack quite as big a punch as expected. The high abv is pretty well disguised. Body is medium to medium-full, with a coarse texture. Carbonation is medium-high and the finish bitter and long. Overall this is a fairly run-of-the-mill expression of a style that should give you a slap in the face.

Very nice Rye IPA. The slight sweetness of the rye blends well with this powerfully hopped beer. Not really extreme, but actually quite balanced.

Flasche, 0.3l. Gold-gelbe. Trübe. Feiner Schaum. Nicht sehr dick.Harziger Duft kombiniert mit Orange und Limone. Kerniges, trockenes Mundgefühl. Sehr biter. Bittere bleibt etwas hängen. Dazu Zitrus-Noten und deutliche Roggen-Mazigkeit. Leicht kratzig.

Bottle from Clapton Craft. Lighter colour than expected. Super hoppy aroma with plenty rye/malt too. Some grassy and biscuity bits. Nice cheesy unctuousness. Bruised pineapple. Taste is malty then again ripe tropics. Very easygoing for the 8.5% with a little boozy nod at the end to remind you not to have 4 bottles. Tops.
