COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Editor’s note: First served on tap at 7.7% ABV.

330ml bottle. Pours a muky apple cidre color, white medium-quick dissipating head. The smell is fruity, griany, hint of alcohol, not alot going on ut pleasant. Flavor is again pleasant. It has a rich rye flavor along with some caramel and lighter frutis, light mint. The 100+IBUS are extremely balanced to the point i would say this is a medium bitterness level. Its notbad.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light spicy rye notes with some nice citrus hoppy notes. Taste is also dominated by citrus hoppy notes with well-balanced bitterness and some light spicy and peppery notes from the rye malt. Body is full enough for style with good carbonation. Very enjoyable beer that I wouldn’t mind drinking on a regular basis.

Hazy golden pour. Full finger of fluffy white head with varying size bubbles. Dry biscuity malt armor with floral hops. Light, crisp, slightly peppery malt foundation with lots of fresh floral hops in back. Citrus fruit sourness blends with pepper and bitterness for a solid balance. Bitterness is on the strong side, but a full mouthfeel and good malt character keep it from overwhelming.

Bottle at Sås & Krås. Always love rye-ipas and this is no exception, slightly too high in alcohol which brings the overall down some.

Fantastisk øl. Denne passer like godt til en fest som til en middag. Passer best til de som liker mye humle i ølet.

Tap at CBC Brixton. Pours a hazy orange with a white head. Aroma isn't that noticeable unfortunately - a bit of bready this, some citrusy that... OK, it's opened up a bit now and it's slightly veggie and nicely funky. Medium body, medium carbonation. Sticky, with light veg, caramel, booze, rye bread dough, wood, piney resin, marmalade. Medium bitter finish with some tonic and grapefruit there. Nice., ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Fruit, citrus, pine and a hint of caramel and grain. Hazy golden with a white head. Medium sweet and heavy bitter. Medium to full body with a average carbonation. Bitter and dry finish. Overall this is a really nice IPA, lots of bitterness, but still quite balanced.

I believe this is a beer that is based on a winning beer brewed for the Lervig homebrewing competition last year. The winning brewer is one part of cuckoo brewers ABC Brewing, and is well know in Norwegian homebrewing circles. He is known for adding Chinook in all his beers, and looking at the bottle there are some here too (together with Citra and Centennial). Pouring there is a lot of foam, but its not persistant. The aroma of this beer leaves no doubt, this is an IPA. Even though the receipt that won the competition was for a pale ale. The hop aromas are of pine and forrests. Tasting this is a bitter beer, lots of hops, but there is also a spiciness from the rye.
